CYPRESS RANCH THEATRE PRODUCTION CONTRACT UIL OAP 2017----- PETER AND THE STARCATCHER I, understand and accept that should I be cast as a company member as an actor, crew, or alternate of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER that I have read and fully understand the following contract. By signing this contract, I acknowledge and will abide by the rules and consequences as set forth. Academics: Each performer must maintain a high academic standard in order to participate in any extra-curricular activity. UIL eligibility rules apply for the cast and crew of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. Students that are border-line academically will be asked to document their individual progress for each class on a weekly basis. Tutorials: It is strongly encouraged for all cast and crew members to attend daily tutorials. Rehearsals do not begin Mon. Thurs. until 3:15, so the students can attend tutorials and/or use the time to complete homework. Rehearsal Information: Being a member of the cast of the UIL One Act Play is an honor and a privilege and much will be expected from you. Your dedication to the show and hard work during rehearsals will help create the magic that this show needs to be successful. PARTICIPATING IN A UIL PRODUCTION IS A LARGE TIME COMMITMENT. Cast members will be replaced if they miss or leave rehearsals early without prior permission. It is important to attend every scheduled rehearsal. The rehearsals for this show will be held Monday- Thursday, 3:15 5:15 pm; Friday s 2:45 5:45 or later if needed and Saturday s from 9:00 5:00. Some Friday rehearsals may need to go to 8:00 pm or later if needed prior to contest dates. Technical rehearsals may go as late as 9:00 pm. Students will be given a rehearsal calendar the first week of rehearsals. Although at first every performer may not have rehearsal every day, the amount and frequency of rehearsals will increase, as the show gets closer. IT IS MANDATORY AND WITHOUT EXCEPTION, THAT ALL CAST and CREW and ALTERNATE MEMBERS MUST BE AT ALL FINAL REHEARSALS UNTIL THE SHOW OPENS AND CONTEST SEASON IS OVER! Conflicts: A production calendar will be provided to each company member at the First Read Through in January 2017. If you know of any conflicts that will cause you to miss rehearsal those must be noted on your audition form. After the show is cast, conflicts not previous listed on the Audition Form will not be excused. Please remember to include any dentist s/doctor s appointments, other extracurricular responsibilities, family vacations, COLLEGE VISITS and family special occasions such as sibling /parent birthdays. We will be working on a two strikes and you are out policy. Attendance: A good show cannot be accomplished without the 100% cooperation of every actor, crew and alternate member. A rehearsal schedule will be provided in advance for the entirety of the rehearsal process. Attendance at rehearsals is mandatory if you are called to be there. Emergencies will be handled on a case by case basis. Attendance Policy A key to producing good theater is regular rehearsal attendance. To that end, the following policies will govern attendance for all Cypress Ranch Theatre Productions. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each day's rehearsal. (Usually at 3:15 p.m.)

The following consequences will apply: 1 st Unexcused absence: Warning 2 nd Unexcused absence: two consecutive rehearsals (unexcused) will be asked to attend a review with the directors. The directors will determine what course of action to take, up to and including the dismissal of the student from the production. 3 rd Unexcused absence: Resignation from your role Tardiness will also count towards attendance. The second tardy will be counted as one unexcused absence. BE ON TIME! As a matter of fact, you should be 10 minutes early. Note: Per UIL rules: Students must be in attendance at least three class periods in order to attend rehearsals and/or a performance. You may obtain an excused absence for tutorials with advanced notice to Coach Bradford or Ms. Bankston or if a tech through Mr. Stanaland. (With rehearsals not starting until 3:15 rehearsals will most likely not interfere with tutorials.) Advance means a minimum of 24 hours notice. Please plan accordingly. Illness must be called in before 10:00 a.m. The drama office number is 281.373.2327. Coach Bradford s cell is 281.658.4315 if you prefer to text in a message. Mandatory Rehearsal Times: The following apply to the UIL cast, crew and alternates. Monday Thursday 3:15 5:15 Friday 2:45 8:00 or longer, if needed Saturday Rehearsals 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. or longer, if needed Rehearsal Schedule: A more comprehensive rehearsal schedule will be given once all dates for UIL OAP Workshop and Critiques have been finalized. Spring Break Performance!!!! Please note: Our official Zone rehearsal and contest week is March 6-10, 2017. It is MANDATORY you are available. Spring break for UIL OAP company members will not start until Saturday, March 11 th. Please do not ask to leave early on March 10. The answer is no. All company members will be released when they arrive back at the school Friday evening/night and have completed unloading all production materials and equipment. If we advance to district, it falls on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and we will have a full rehearsal on Saturday, March 18, 2017. You must be available for this rehearsal. Picking up students from rehearsals: Students and their parents will need to make arrangements for transportation home following rehearsals. Behavior: As a representative of the Drama Club and Cypress Ranch High School, you will be expected to carry yourself in a highly professional and respectful manner at all times; in the classroom, halls, lunch room, etc. Your behavior in class should also be maintained at a high level of respect. Behavior problems may result in removal from the company. Behavior at rehearsal should be focused and professional. It is not acceptable to leave rehearsal for any reason. Be on time. Be focused. Be ready to work. 100%! Communication: If at any point you have a question about auditions, rehearsals or performances you are obligated to bring them to my attention (Coach Bradford.) I am unable to address questions or concerns if they are not brought to my attention. Nothing will ruin a working relationship quicker than a lack of communication.

Social Media Policy: Any students found making negative or inappropriate comments about the production, auditions, directors, cast mates or crew will be immediately removed from the production. In accordance with CFISD Schools Anti-Bullying policy, there will be zero tolerance for negative comments about the one act. This policy applies to Private Facebook or Twitter accounts set to private or otherwise. Any social media updates, including uploaded videos or pictures, are also prohibited and if found will result in dismissal from the production. Cell Phone Policy: No cell phones will be allowed during rehearsals or technical weekperiod. The Director s number will be checked during rehearsals if any messages are needed to be delivered to students. Students cast in the production will receive a production calling tree at the first read-thru. Cell phones will not be taken, students will just be asked to leave rehearsal and it will count against their attendance. PRODUCTION FEE: $150 + $25 meals fee = $175 total fees for UIL. (Fee helps to cover show expenses; script, 4 meals, workshop field trips, show shirt, etc. through the district contest.) There will be additional fees upon advancing.
