60 years of excellent community theatre 1951. SIXTY YEARS. 2011 2011 - SEASON - 2012 by Frederick Knott by Woody Allen Directed by Phil Bowerman March 29 - April 15, 2012 Pinnacle Playhouse Belleville, Ontario

THE CAST ACTOR ROLE Marvin Tucker Allan Sarah Kirby Nancy Mike Wilcox Bogart Scott Roodvoets Dick Heather Barker Linda Alison Temple Sharon Sonya Zaback Vanessa Amy Pero Intellectual Girl Jackie Sutherland Barbara Amy, Sonya, Jackie Dream Sharon, Gina, Go-Go Girl SYNOPSIS OF SCENES The entire action of the play takes place in the apartment of Allan Felix on West 10th Street, New York City, in the seventies. Act 1 Act 2 Act 3 Scene 1... A late summer afternoon Scene 2... Later that night Several weeks later The following morning There will be two intermissions of 15 minutes each Play It Again, Sam from the director In keeping with our 60th anniversary theme of presenting blasts from the past, I m proud to add Woody Allen to the mix. I ve always been a fan of his writing, having worked on three of his plays here on the Pinnacle Stage, and going to see his movies since the sixties. Did you know he has been nominated for 23 Oscars, 16 of those for screenplays? While searching through the archives, I set my sights on romantic comedies that I had either enjoyed as a crew or audience member; this one filled the bill as both. So here for your viewing pleasure, from our 80/81 season is Play It Again, Sam. Thanks for being with us and I hope you have fun, too! 1951. SIXTY YEARS. 2011 THE BELLEVILLE THEATRE GUILD S DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY SEASON Join the celebration! Remembering Bob Long On December 21, 2011 we said good-bye to Bob Long, our friend and a long-time supporter of the Guild, who passed away unexpectedly following a short illness. Bob was on the Board of Directors for many years, and he was involved in activities both on stage and back stage, from acting to technical to stage management. Many of you will recognize Bob as the public face of the Guild as he was for so long the person we relied upon to manage the Box Office and subscriptions. Bob s contributions to the BTG were so many and so varied that his impact will surely be felt for countless years to come. Our sympathies go out to his wife, Joan, and all his family and friends. Dave Henderson, President, BTG YOU COULD WIN THIS BEAUTIFUL SPARKLING DIAMOND RING O Connor s Prize courtesy of O Connor s Jewel Box Ladies 14k yellow gold diamond dress ring. 0.50 carat total weight in diamonds. WORKSHOP 4 - The Joy Of Sets Saturday, April 28, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Instructor: Jane Coryell - Enrollment: maximum 20 participants The set designer creates a visual evocation of time and place, themes and moods. The set also expresses characters in and interpretations of the script. This workshop teaches you to meet those responsibilities through analyzing the script, sketching out ideas, making a scale model, with construction diagrams, floor plans, and elevations. Using colour, texture, detail, and visual metaphor will give vision to both text and sub-text. Bio: Jane is a nine-time winner and six-time nominee of THEA design awards. In 2002, the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts honoured her contributions to local theatre with their prestigious annual Award of Special Appreciation. The Town of Oakville awarded her the 2006 Community Spirit Award for Volunteerism in the Arts. Since 1979, she has designed sets and consulted on scene painting for over eighty productions in schools and community theatre. She knows the challenges of working conditions, staging venues, and budgets in local theatre. Having taught high school Jane is well-versed in teaching. WORKSHOPS ARE FREE FOR CURRENT BTG GUILD MEMBERS! Visit our web site for more information: www.bellevilletheatreguild.ca/btg_workshops.html
