It required creating a system and implementing it across posters, tri-fold handouts and book stands. These items were created for the English Department for their Ninth Letter event at the Pygmalion Festival in Champaign, IL.
Book terms assignment This project was created to help students at the beginning of the course become familiar with terms associated with print design. Students were given terms with definitions. They were asked to design a booklet in a way that would assist them in remembering what the terms meant. At the end of the assignment the students had a reference book for the rest of the semester.

Risograph booklet This project was used in response to students questions about color mixing in printing processes. The students were asked to practice a possible layout for body copy as they prepared a document for risograph printing. This required students to create color separations and work through mixing colors in overlays to get the desired effect.

emotion through type For this warm up assignment at the beginning of the semester students were given a choice between two quotes. They were then to take their chosen quote and create a design that communicated the idea visually. This exercise helped to prepare the students to pull a theme and design concept from the Ninth Letter material.
