Happier Than A Billionaire: The Sequel Free Ebooks PDF
Happier Than A Billionaire: The Sequel, continues the journey of one coupleã â â s adventures in Costa Rica. Follow the author and her husband as they move to the beach to build their dream home. Although the seafood is fresh and the sunsets are golden, it doesnã â â t take long for Nadine to find that this process wonã â â t come easy, even when living in one of the prettiest places on earth. In the midst of it all, Nadine entertains her parents and mother-in-law, kayaks crocodile-infested waters, and obsesses over howler monkeys that reside above her neighborã â â s house. She also discovers that not all dreams come in the form of brick and mortar. Some appear after taking a chance when all odds are against you. It's a light hearted book full of funny stories that are intended to make you laugh but also to allow the reader who isn't lucky enough to have experienced Costa Rica, the ability to live vicariously through Nadine and Rob.This book is NOT intended to be an instructional guide on how to quit your job and move to
Costa Rica so if you are looking for that, keep looking. It does however give you a great insight into some of the obstacles involved that were experienced by this young couple and there is always a funny spin on everything.i'm not sure how it's possible to hate this book, but apparently some readers did. My first thought about those horrible reviews was that they were written by some big city, suit wearing, ass who has perfectly smooth skin with not a hint of a smile line anywhere. I hope the author appreciates those horrible reviews because in actuality they were some of the funniest parts of this sequel. Reading her father's emails back to her as he tried to boost her 1 star rating broken heart was hilarious!i hope there will be a third book that chronicles the building of their home. I have no doubt that building a house in another country should provide mucho material for her. I read the first book and loved it.. The sequel was my favorite by far! Can we just have a book all on Rob's hernia surgery? Please? Moon pain? Ugh.. that was 20 minutes straight of laughter at midnight.the best thing about Nadine's writing is what she does NOT try to be. It's like you are sitting, with a friend, and she's telling the story. She doesn't sugar coat and manages to remind us that regardless of zip code, life is not to be taken too seriously in day to day moments. It's just a water letter... it's just fruit.. it's just a license... I cracked up along the way and was even more convinced that we're able to do this. I have a family, of 5 and have been discussing for a good couple years moving to a foreign country and Costa Rica was decided last year. While I've read plenty of "How To Move To Costa Rica" books I always found myself wondering if the "process" was a joke. That can't be real life, can it? Is it REALLY that hard to get a drivers license? Nadine lays out the reality and you realize, it's NOT a joke. And that the process is the best part of the journey! The best place this book came in handy is now I know my inner thoughts aren't exclusive. I am not going to be surprised at the lengths and hoops I'll have to jump through or go to, but at least I'll be reminded that with some humor and perspective, anything is possible. Even paradise! Bravo Nadine! Thank you for the laughs! I rarely leave reviews but this book really made me laugh out loud...a lot! It reads just like Nadine is talking right to you. So many entertaining and great stories mixed in with real life inconviences of living abroad. I found myself to many times to count laughing while reading this book that I felt bad for disturbing all the people around me. I think Rob is the funniest person in the whole book. His stories are legendary. I wish she would have some photos included in the book so we can better visualize the people and places.
Just got back from another trip to Costa Rica on Sunday with my wanderlust in full force. I had passed by this book before as a recommended one as I love travel and bit the bullet and bought it after making quick work of the first one...and mentally devising a move to CR in my head...that über sensible hubs would never agree to!i really enjoy Nadine's writing style. Reminds me of myself, maybe because I spent some time in my 20's in New York City. Loved all of the 86th street references too--i used to cover an office in Bay Ridge and my friend lived off the 86th street stop!it made me laugh on more than one occasion. I can relate to the cutting down on material things as well, you feel hard pressed to do it in the states. In Costa Rica, it's just a way of life. We all should be thankful for having drinking water, having a kitchen to cook in, etc!it really resonated with me having just been there again and being reminded of things that we saw this trip or have seen in past trips. I cannot even imagine all of the bureaucracy and red tape that she and her hubby went through for residency, all while maintaining a great sense of humor--but you'd be lost without that!definitely would recommend this book. Fun, funny and truly honest look at life in Costa Rica. Having lived with scorpions (far more venomous ones) in Arizona, can't say that I'd be thrilled to cohabitate with them again! But give me the monkeys, toucans, and coati all day long. I'll be waiting for the third in this trilogy!!
