Most recently in 2018, he won 1st prize in the piano division of the KSU Young Artists Concerto Competition, 2nd prize in the DSO Concerto Competition, and 3rd prize in the Emory University Young Artists Piano Competition and was selected as a winner of the 44th Ruth Kern Young Artists Concerto Competition. Additionally, he attended the Reinhardt Piano Festival and Academy from 2016 to 2018 in which he performed Ravel with pianist Zsolt Bognár. While an active soloist, Benjamin still enjoys playing in groups. As an avid chamber musician, he often collaborates with other young local musicians. In fact, his quartet recently received 2rd prize at the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition in 2018. He is also an Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS) alumnus and played the alto saxophone and the piano for the group. They have toured to major concert venues including Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, the Strathmore, Atlanta Symphony Hall, and the New World Center. Today, he is a member of the Duke University Wind Symphony. Benjamin graduated from South-Forsyth High School in 2018 and is now a freshman at Duke University intending to major in economics and computer science. His previous piano teachers include Dr. Alexander Wasserman, and he currently studies with Professor Randall Love at Duke.

Nathaniel F. Parker, Director of Orchestral Studies, has conducted orchestras in the United States, Peru, Russia, Poland, England, and the Czech Republic.
