FADE IN: INT. FLORIDAN MUSEUM - AFTERNOON, SECURITY GUARD, EARLY TWENTIES, goes on a tour of her new job at the Floridan Museum. (O.S.) Today is the day, I go on my tour of this new museum. Also I get to see who might be the possible Serial Killer. Here goes nothing., HEAD SECURITY, LATE FORTIES, takes Sarah on her tour of the museum. (TO ) You ready for your tour, of your new job? You bet. I am so excited to see this place, it looks so amazing. You haven t seen anything yet. Come on I will show you around. So, what is going to be my job here? I am going to show you the most exciting thing that you will be watching. Tom and Sarah first stopped at the Mask Exhibits. (CONT D) So this is on of the things that you will be watching. What is so important that I have to watch these masks? These masks are the classical Mardi Gras Masks. You have a Mardi Gras exhibit?
2. Yes, we most certainly do. They have started back about 300 years, so we started an exhibit, to show how long they have been around. Also to show the many colors as well. Yes, there are many different colors of the masks. I actually did a paper on the Mardi Gras Masks, when I was in college a few years ago. Oh, yeah? Yeah, I love the Mardi Gras Masks. Sarah starts to look at all of the Masks in the wall, carefully examining them. She then comes to a special one that is in a case by its self. (CONT D) What is so special about this Mask that it is in this case? It is said that this mask is haunted. Haunted, how so? Its said that this mask belonged to the serial killer of New Orleans, that when he died his spirit is still attached to his mask. Well, that is kind of creepy. Don t worry, it is safe behind that case.
3. (CONT D) Well lets press on. Sarah turns to exit the exhibit, but stops and turns back to the case where the mask sits. (O.S.) Something about that mask, keeps drawing my attention. It definitely fits the description of the reporter was using. Tom peaks around the corner. You coming Sarah? I m sorry, I kind of lost myself in these masks. That is alright, it happens a lot. Now, shell we? Yes, lets. Have to hurry and get your tour done, because your shift starts in an hour. I can t wait to start my shift, I already have my stuff with me. Good, good. Now lets get this tour finished. Now over here is the gift shop, where you can buy the replica s of the Mardi Gras Masks. Wow, now that just blows my mind. I can by a replica, and send it to my mother. Tom, turns toward Sarah. Why in earth would you want to do that?
4. Because my mother collects masks, so I want to send one to my mother. Well, look at the time. The tour has come to an end. Wow, that was fast. That s funny, that s exactly what my ex-girlfriend use to say. Sarah busts out with laughter. That s funny. So, is there any questions that you may have for me? Yes, I have one. Okay. Why did you show me half of the museum? That is a good question. It is because the other half of the museum is what I will be watching. Oh. Also, there is still parts of the museum that is still under construction. I guess that makes sense. Well, I will see you on my rounds.
5. See you then. Tom nodded, then started toward his side of the museum. INT. FLORIDAN MUSEUM - NIGHT Sarah starts her rounds, after the museum had closed. She comes across the Mardi Gras Mask exhibit. (O.S.) Everything looks good in here. Wait, a minute. Sarah stops in the doorway and sees that the Haunted Mask is missing. (CONT D) Now that is just weird. (O.S.) Sarah? Sarah come in. Are you there? Sarah reaches for her walkie. Yeah, I am here. Is everything okay? Yes, everything is okay. I am just making my rounds. Good, good. I should be there in twenty minutes. All right, sounds good to me. Sarah leaves the Mardi Gras exhibit. (CONT D) How am I supposed to explain this to Tom. Sarah meets up with Tom at the security desk.
6. I hope that none of the Masks caused any problems. (Laughs) None of these masks caused any problems, they wouldn t dare. Good to hear. I will check back up with you in a few. Okay, see you then. Sarah runs down the stairs to the gift shop, grabs one of the haunted masked replica, and ran it back to the exhibit. (O.S.) (CONT D) There, now I will have to find the real Mask. (TO ) Who are you talking too? Oh, I am just talking to myself. Oh, I see. Wait, your Jennifer Tom s morning reliever? Yup, that s me. Why are you here so early. I got a phone call from Tom, saying that he was sick and asked my to come in to cover for the rest of his shift. That s funny. What is funny about it?
7. I just saw Tom a few seconds ago, and he seems pretty fine to me. He was? Yeah. Hang on. Sarah heads back to the security desk. What is wrong? Tom has been acting very weird lately. How weird? I am not sure. That s why I am going over these security tapes, to see if there is anything out of the ordinary. Sarah plays back the tapes and watches them. Then she stops on a tape of Tom. Isn t that Tom in the Mardi Gras exhibit? Yes it is. What is he doing? It looks like he is heading towards that haunted mask case. Why would he be doing that? I don t know. But when I was near that case, it sounded like the mask was calling out to someone.
8. You think that the mask was calling out to Tom? I don t think it s been the only time either. Sarah points out Tom in another video clip, this time he has the mask on. But he isn t alone in the video. What is he doing to... Wait... I ll zoom in. Is that... Ben? It looks like it. What is he doing? The video that Sarah and Jennifer where watching goes black. That can t be good. Why do you seem so calm about this? I have seen this work before. What do you mean? I am not a security guard. What are you then? Sarah hesitates at first. I am an Anthropologist. So, you re undercover?
9. Yes, I am. Suddenly the lights go out in the Museum. Oh great, there goes the lights. He is on to us. What are we going to do? Try to say alive as long as possible. We are going to need help. I have a plan. Sarah takes her phone out of her pocket, and dials her boss s number. (V.O.) Sarah, do you know what time it is? Jim, the killer is here. At the museum? Yes. He is on to me. I am on my way, just try to stay alive until I get there. I will try. Sarah ends the phone conversation and puts her phone back in her pocket. What did he say?
10. He said that he is on his way, with back up and to stay alive until he gets here. Easier said then done. We can do this. Sarah starts to hear foot steps approaching. (CONT D) We have to find some place to hide. Like where are we going to hide? Over there behind that statue. Sarah and Jennifer ran behind the statue, and waited until the foot steps stop. (CONT D) (Whispers) Okay, now I will text Jim and tell him to hurry up. Shh. Do you hear that? No, I don t hear anything. I think he is gone. Tom reaches behind the statue, and pulls Jennifer out from behind it. (CONT D) (YELLS AT ) Let go of me you creep. (SHOUTS AT ) Let her go. (TO ) You just couldn t mind your own damn business could you? Let her go Tom.
11. Stupid little girl, now you have to watch your poor friend here die. Tom pulls out a black survival knife, and puts it towards Jennifer s neck. Don t hurt her Tom. What are you going to do about it? I am going to stop you. (LAUGHS) You really are stupid., MID THIRTY, SHERIFF. Shows up with backup. The swat team spreads out around the inside of the museum. (O.S.) (TO ) Drop the knife Tom, it s over. (TO ) It isn t over until these two bitches are dead. I will shoot you. You can try. Damn it Jim, just take the damn shot. You do and she dies. Jim, takes the shot. He shoots Tom in the hand, Tom releases Jennifer and she runs towards the swat team. (CONT D) Ah, damn it you shot me. Put your hands where I can see them. Tom raises his hands in the air.
12. (CONT D) Get on your knees. Tom gets on his knees. Jim walks over to Tom to put cuffs on him. Took you long enough to get here. Yeah, you know the traffic was crazy. (CHUCKLES) You re impossible, you know that. You all right? Couldn t be better. Sarah looks over towards where Jennifer is. (CONT D) I should probably go check on Jennifer. I think that will be a good idea. Sarah walks towards Jennifer, while Jim cuffs Tom to a gurney. Hey, are you okay? Yeah, I am fine. How are you? I am okay. Tom going to jail? Yes he is, after a trip to the hospital. All right ladies, time to get out of here.
13. Good, I can t wait to get home to my husband. Jim starts to walk away, then stops and turns around. Sarah, see you Monday morning? I will see you Monday. Goodnight Sarah. (CHUCKLES) Goodnight Jim. Jim heads out the door with the swat team. So, you really do work for the sheriffs. Yes, I really do. Goodnight Sarah, and thank you. Your welcome, and goodnight Jennifer. Jennifer, turns and leaves out of the museum. Sarah looks one last time at the museum and leaves. (O.S.) (CONT D) This was a good place to work, even if it was for a short time. THE END FADE OUT
