What is adjective? It is a word that describes or clarifies a noun. Adjectives describe nouns by giving some information about an object s size, shape, age, color, origin or material. It s a big table. (size) It s a round table.(shape) It s an old table.(age) It s a brown table.(color) It s an English table.(origin) It s a wooden table.(material) It s a lovely table. (opinion)

GRAMMAR The comparative adjective Comparative makes comparison among two things. It expresses the quality or characteristic of one thing in comparison to another thing. For and adjective that has one syllable add the ending er to the end of the adjective to create the comparative form. For example: tall - taller For adjective that ends in y and has two syllables drop y and add ier For example: pretty - prettier

For an adjective that has two syllables and does not end in y add the word more before the adjective. For example: purple more purple For a word with three syllables, we use the word more before the adjective. For example: beautiful more beautiful

When you use comparative adjectives, you usually use the word than to structure your sentence. For example: Kham is taller than Noy Bicycle is safer than motorbike.

The superlative of adjective Superlative make comparison among three or more things. It expresses the extreme or highest degree, quality or characteristic of a things in comparison to other things in a group. One syllable words - add est to the word. Remember that it is sometimes necessary to double the final consonant. For examples : strong - strongest big - biggest.

One syllable words ending with an e - only add st like fine - finest or rare - rarest. Two syllable words ending with a y - change the y to an i and add est. For examples: crazy - craziest silly - silliest. Two and three syllable words - use most For examples: most comfortable

For example Science is difficult but Math is the most difficult. Bungee jump is one of the most adventure.
