Introduction Thank you very much for purchasing the Graupner Kingpad mc-edition. This is extremely versatile. This manual is valid for all the modules listed on the cover sheet. Read this manual carefully to achieve the best results with your Kingpad mc-edition and first of all to safely control your models. If you experience any trouble during operation, take the instructions to help or ask your dealer or Graupner Service Centre. Due to technical changes, the information may be changed in this manual without prior notice. Be always updated by checking periodically on our website, www.graupner.de to be always uptodate with the products and firmwares. This product complies with national and European legal requirements. Intended use The Kingpad mc-edition regulates and controls the lighting and special functions in a vehicle model over only 1 channel of the transmitter. The Kingpad mc-edition is designed exclusively to be used in battery-powered, radio controlled models, any other use is not allowed. For any improper use no guarantee or liability is assumed. Read through this entire manual before you attempt to install or use the Kingpad mc-edition. Graupner constantly works on the development of all products; we reserve the right to change the item, its technology and equipment. Target group The item is not a toy. It is not suitable for children under 14. The installation and operation of the Kingpad mc-edition must be performed by experienced modellers. If you do not have sufficient knowledge about dealing with radio-controlled models, please contact an experienced modeller or a model club. Persons, including children, with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, or not capable to use safely the transmitter must not use the transmitter without supervision or instruction by a responsible person. Operation and use of radio-controlled models needs to be learnt! If you have never driven such a model, then start extra carefully and make sure to be familiar with the reactions of the model to the remote control commands. Proceed always responsibly. This also means that you have for your own protection liability insurance. Protect all equipment from dust, dirt, moisture. All equipment must be protected from vibration as well as excessive heat or cold. The models may only be operated remotely in normal outside temperatures such as from -10 C to +55 C. 8 / 16

WEEE-Reg.-Nr.: DE 42466037 Product description The Kingpad (KP) is made with the SMD technology. With this module, the Graupner / Kingbus lighting system can be controlled. This item has been tested in accordance with EU directives and complies with the legal requirements. 10 / 16
Notes on environmental protection Disposal notes If this symbol is on the product, instructions for use or packaging, it indicates that the product may not be disposed with normal household waste once it has reached the end of its service life. It must be turned over to a recycling collection point for electric and electronic apparatus. Individual markings indicate which materials can be recycled. You make an important contribution to protection of the environment by utilizing facilities for reuse, material recycling or other means of exploiting obsolete equipment. Batteries must be removed from the unit and disposed of separately at an appropriate collection point. Please inquire with local authorities about the responsible waste collection locations. Care and maintenance P Notes on care The product does not need any maintenance, it works so as it is without any special care. In your own interest please protect the model from dust, dirty and humidity! Warranty certificate The Graupner, Henriettenstrassee 96, 73230 Kirchheim/Teck grants from the date of purchase of this product for a period of 24 months. The warranty applies only to the material or operational defects already existing when you purchased the item. Damage due to misuse, wear, overloading, incorrect accessories or improper handling are excluded from the guarantee. The legal rights and claims are not affected by this guarantee. Please check exactly defects before a claim or send the product, because we have to ask you to pay shipping costs if the item is free from defects. Installation / Connection Procedure: The Kingpad light module is connected directly to the special input of the processor board. In case you want to use both Kingpads mc-edition, then the Adapter 3974.3 must be connected between them. Kingpad Licht und Funktion 1 1 1 1 + F1 - F2 F3 3974.2 S 3974.1 Adapter MC-26/28 3974.3 ZH For the transmitters mc-16 and mc-20 use the Adapter No.3974.4! First, remove the built-in switches and the aluminium trim board. In this case proceed carefully and cautiously with a heat gun. With the mc-28 4d, the two blind plugs on the front sides can be replaced with switches of your choice. There are enough free slots available in the transmitter. Now the cables and plugs are led through the hole of the former Ctl 5 switch. Now remove the protective foil and place the pad in the recess of the transmitter. Please push gently and carefully! 12 / 16
Bundle the cables of the Kingpad with the existing switch cables in the transmitter. The installation of the hardware is complete. The ZH slot is located on the lower left side of the channel-port board. 13 / 16
Setting the Kingpad A co-ordination between the Graupner / Kingpad mc Edition and the Graupner central module must take place so that the perfect function is guaranteed. Proceed as follows: Make sure there is a connection between the remote control and the receiver. Kingpad assignation in the transmitter: In the transmitter call up the menu "Control setting" and assign the Kingpad like a normal switch to the desired channel. On the model side, this selected control channel must be connected by means of the enclosed patch cable from the receiver output to the "Kingpad" input on the Kingbus Central Module. Driving and steering channel must continue to remain connected to the central module as well! Press the white Prog button on the KBCM for more than 2 seconds until the yellow LED flashes in a second rhythm Push the upper left button. As confirmation for a detected key, the Prog-LED on the KBCM goes off and remains off when pressed! Release the button. The Prog-LED flashes again and the next key can be read. Press the individual keys one after the other; starting from top left to right! From the middle left to the right. Under left to the right. After the twelfth key the "S" key must be pressed again. So the Kingbus central module automatically exits programming mode and returns to normal mode. The Kingpad is now set and it can be used 14 / 16
Operation By pressing a key, the light or the function is switched on, it is switched off by pressing it again. The S key switches a special function. (Not yet occupied) Exceptions High beam: not fixed position switch when dipped beam is off. High beam only goes on as long as the button is pressed (flashing light) Turn signal right / left: turn signal is activated by pressing a button. Press again to switch it off again. But it can also be switched off by appropriate steering deflection and return to the middle position. In addition, an active turn signal is turned off by activating the other side. Fog light / tail light: When pressed for the first time, the front fog light will switch on. After pressing again, the rear fog light comes on. Press again to turn off both functions.
