Recreation and Parks Rental Facilities and Rates Rental Facilities Any payment/s made less than 30 days prior to the facility rental date must be paid by cash, certified check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. No personal checks. Rentals are subject to a security deposit and staffing fee as indicated on the contract. For contracts that include multiple days throughout the year, the security deposit may be retained by the city as indicated on the contract until after the final rental date of the contract year. Full payment is due within five calendar days of booking for rentals that are booked less than 60 days prior to the rental date. Full payment is due within 10 calendar days of booking for rentals that are booked 60 days or more prior to the rental date/s. The security fee converts to a damage deposit at time of rental and is fully refundable after the rental if no charges are assessed. The security deposit will be refunded by mail within 30 calendar days after the rental if there is no damage to the facility. In case of cancellation of the rental more than 90 days prior to rental date, one half of security deposit is non-refundable. In case of cancellation less than 90 days prior to rental date, the entire security deposit is non-refundable. The rental fee is refunded with prior notice excluding any ActiveNet fees. Alcohol Deposit Alcohol is ONLY allowed at the American Legion Rental Hall. For rentals at which alcohol will be allowed, an alcohol deposit equal to the amount of the damage/security deposit is required. The alcohol deposit is fully refundable upon cancellation or after rental but is subject to additional fees being assessed against the damage deposit and/or alcohol deposit. All rentals are taxable at the current Marion County tax rate. Organizations claiming tax-exempt status must provide a current copy of their tax-exempt certificate along with their signed contract or the rental is subject to tax. To request any rate discounts (such as special rates for long-term contracts, special events or recreation partnerships) a Special Request Form must be completed, approved by the recreation and parks director and attached to the contract.
