AUDITORIUM The auditorium has a variety of layouts including Proscenium, Flat floor, 7 Row Extension, Open stage and Orchestral. Contact technical staff for more details. SOUND Designed as an orchestral concert hall, the Anvil has a very live acoustic and as such places heavy demand on amplified sound. The EM Acoustics system installed in the main auditorium has been specifically designed with this in mind to ensure clarity and full coverage. The system is based around EM Acoustics HALO compact line array system. The system is built around a massive ribbon transducer, aligned with variable diffraction manifold to ensure HALO produces a consistent 90-degree horizontal coverage pattern. Line Array Separate Left & Right flown Line array hangs. Two processing feeds for each array, which allows independent control of the top four boxes in the array and the bottom eight boxes. All delay and EQ settings are factory supplied, adjusted for the venue by EM Acoustics using an FFT analyser. Six FFA- 6000 power amplifiers are utilised to drive the arrays, four enclosures per amplifier. The FFA-6000 delivers 3000W RMS per channel into a 2-ohm load. In addition to the main left & right hangs of the HALO array, the system is completed by several other products from EM Acoustics. Subwoofers System subwoofers are driven in mono, fed from an auxiliary input. Two processing outputs are used, each feeding an FFA-6000 power amplifier. One amplifier drives the i-12 subwoofers (one per channel) and one amplifier drives the EMS-215 subwoofers (two per channel). Front fills The front fills are separated as left & right, and are driven from the master system inputs that feed the HALO arrays. A single FFA-3600 (2 x 1800W RMS into 2 ohms) drives all six front fills. Rear Delays The various delays around the venue are also in mono. The side circle delays comprise of an EMS-81 loudspeaker covering the area into the auditorium, and a rear-facing i-2 loudspeaker (which can be independently switched on or off is used to cover the sections of the choir stalls farthest down-stage. Two additional i-2 loudspeakers cover areas right at the back of the auditorium, outside of the coverage area of the main arrays. These are again driven from a single processing output, fed from the main inputs. Choir Stalls The six EMS-61 loudspeakers are driven from an FFA-3600 power amplifier, and are fed from the main inputs on the system. The entire system is powered by amplifiers from Full Fat Audio (FFA) from the UK, and has a pair of XTA Electronics DP448 4-in 8-out loudspeaker management processors handling all system processing, EQ and delay. The use of the XTA 4-Series processors allows for maximum flexibility in use. The entire system can be running with only three outputs from the mixing console left/right and an auxiliary for subwoofers. For touring companies, who may not want to use the main array system but wish to use the delays, simply muting the relevant processing channels on the XTA units will allow normal system wiring to still be used, but only the desired system elements to be functioning.
