Employment will begin at the earliest availability of the winning candidate. The application form for this position should be submitted electronically at bsomusic.org/auditions. Live Auditions will be held February 22-26, 2018. Those applicants invited to take a live audition, must contact the Orchestra Personnel office at auditions@bsomusic.org by January 26, 2018 to schedule a tentative audition time. To confirm this time, a deposit of $100.00 is required from each applicant and must be returned January 26, 2018. The deposit will be refunded to the applicant upon arrival for the audition or if our office is informed within seven (7) days of the audition of his/her inability to attend. Applicants should enter through the artist entrance (located on the side of the building near the intersection of Cathedral and Biddle Streets). A BSO staff member will meet your group in the lobby to check-in and draw numbers to determine the playing order. There will be four (4) audition rounds, all of which will be held on stage at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Preliminary, Semi-Final, and First Final round will be held behind a screen. The Second Final round will be held without a screen. Please be aware that the audition committee of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to immediately dismiss any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions. In each round of auditions, applicants may be required to play selections with members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. There may be sight-reading material in one or more rounds. It is assumed that any applicant for this position will accept employment with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, if it is offered.
