LEVEL 2 ACTING INDUCTION: TWO BY JIM CARTWRIGHT 18 October 2017 7.00pm Ticket Price - free PG BTEC First Acting, curriculum assessment, present scenes from Jim Carwright s Two. TWO is an award winning comic play filled with twists and turns. Taking place over the course of one evening the play highlights the rocky relationship of the landlord and landlady of a busy local pub; we meet fourteen assorted characters, as the colourful regulars pull up a stool and let us into their lives. Sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, yet always incredibly human, the play reveals the lives and loves, the triumphs and tragedies of ordinary people and shows that they are far less ordinary than you might think.

Daisy Meredith, the new girl, is the first scholarship student to attend the Grangewood School for Girls. The privileged students are determined to make Daisy look bad in the eyes of the administration. Daisy wins over her chums and saves the day when she cracks a secret code, finds a treasure and saves the life of her chief nemesis all on the same night! THE HISTORY BOYS BY ALAN BENNETT 27 February - 2 March 2018 7.00pm Ticket Price - 6.00 15 An unruly bunch of bright, funny sixth-form boys in a British boarding school are, as such boys will be, in pursuit of good times, sport, and a place at a good university - generally in that order. In all their efforts, they are helped and hindered, enlightened and bemused, by a maverick English teacher who seeks to broaden their horizons in sometimes undefined ways, and by a young history teacher who questions the methods, as well as the aim of their schooling. In Alan Bennett s classic play, staff room rivalry and the anarchy of adolescence provoke insistent questions about history and how you teach it; about education and its purpose.
