Biographical Notes Frederick Zech, born in Philadelphia, spent most of his career in the San Francisco Bay Area. Scope and Content The collection includes (Boxes 2-10) both scores, and instrumental and voice parts, for a wide variety of compositions. In addition (Box 1) there is found a photograph and biographical sketch of Mr. Zech by Oliver Hyde, a large scrapbook of programs, music reviews, and related articles, and a small scrapbook of newspaper reviews. Remarks: The correspondence of Frederick has been deposited with the California Historical Society, San Francisco, by Mrs. Benson. Box Box 1, item 1. One folder containing a studio photograph of Mr. Zech. item 2. One large scrapbook with a red cover containing music reviews, programs, and other articles pertaining to Mr. Zech dating November, 1882 -December, 1883; January, 1889; March, 1894; April, 1898-1900; and, a miscellaneous collection of other materials. item 3.
