SHAKESPEARE, William (1564-1616). For more than 350 years, William Shakespeare has been the world's most popular playwright. On the stage, in the movies, and on television his plays are watched by vast audiences. People read his plays again and again for pleasure. Students reading his plays for the first time are delighted by what they find. 4

The Winter s Tale Story Mountain Planner A story mountain planner is a template to plan stories on, with room for details on setting and characters. The following are the different sections in the story. 1) The beginning: Introduce the main characters and describe the setting. What would your first sentence be? 2) The build up: What events took place? Mention some of the clues and evidence you found? How was the excitement built up? 3) The climax (the most exciting or important moment in a story): What went wrong? Was there a mystery? Were there any disagreements? 4) The resolution (the action of solving a problem): How were things sorted out? Think about every step. 5) The ending: Did the story end with everyone happy? Was it a tragic ending? How did the characters develop towards the end? Was there a moral lesson? 9
