1 NIGHT WATCHER NW 760 QUICK SETUP GUIDE MOTORIZED LED FLOOD LIGHT WITH WI-FI CAMERA Please read these instructions carefully prior to installation and retain them for future reference. Failure to follow any of these instructions could void product warranties. 2 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions and other hazards read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels. Before installing, servicing or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions. For Commercial Installation: Service and maintenance of this fixture should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician. For Residential Installation: If you are unsure about the installation or maintenance of this fixture, consult a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not mount the unit against flammable surfaces. The motion detector will not operate correctly if it is installed: o Near the outlet of a central heating boiler o Near an air conditioning unit o Pointing directly at moving vehicles o Within sight of reflection from moving water o Where other lamps could shine on the detector Fixtures can NOT be used with a dimmer switch, motion or occupancy sensor and other electronic switching devices unless otherwise designated. LED fixtures must be powered directly off a switch circuit. Do not install more than one motion sensor light on one wall switch. This fixture should not be used in areas with limited ventilation or high ambient temperatures. This fixture is intended to be connected to a properly installed and grounded. These instructions do not claim to cover all details or variations in equipment or provide every possible contingency to meet in connection with the installation, operation or maintenance. Should further information be needed, you may contact Customer Service at Email: support@iqinnovations.com.au WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK Turn off electrical power at fuse or circuit breaker box before wiring fixture to the power supply. Verify that the supply voltage is correct. Connect fixture to a 240volt, 50/60 Hz power source. Make sure all electrical and grounded connections are in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local code requirements. All wiring connections must be proper isolated between wire connectors. CAUTION: RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE Never connect components under load. Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling. Never connect an LED product directly to dimmer packs, occupancy sensors, timing devices or other related control device, unless individual product specifications deem otherwise. Unless individual product deems otherwise: do not exceed fixtures maximum ambient temperatures. LED products are Polarity Sensitive. Ensure proper polarity before installation. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can cause damage to LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit. Do not touch the individual electronic components, it may cause ESD, shorten lamp life or alter performance. CAUTION: RISK OF INJURY Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times when removing fixture from carton, installing, servicing or performing maintenance. Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on. LED LAMPS ARE EXTREMELY BRIGHT. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU STARE INTO AN LED BEAM, THIS MAY CAUSE IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE EYE. Account for small parts and destroy packaging materials, as these may be hazardous to children WARNING: RISK OF BURN Allow fixture to cool before handling. Do not touch enclosure of light source. Do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the label. Keep combustible and other materials that can burn away from the luminaries, fixture and lamp/lens. 2

3 PRE-INSTALLATION Before beginning assembly of the product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and hardware contents. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product. Estimated Installation time: 30 minutes. Note: Fixture should be installed by persons with experience in household wiring or by a qualified electrician. The Electrical system and the method of electrically connecting this fixture to must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local building codes. Installing the Mounting Bracket Insert the mains wire through EVA gasket and fixture back plate, Line up the holes of the fixture back cover plate with the holes on your wall. Use the two drywall screws F and the Plastic Masonry plugs G and fix it tightly to the wall. WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing. CAUTION: Do not cut any wires with factory installed wire connectors or remove the wire connectors. 4

5 Step 2: Wiring the Light Fixture How to connect the light wires to the main wire inside the connection block. Neutral (Blue) to Neutral (Blue) Earth (Green) to Earth ( Green/Yellow} Live ( Brown) to Active(Brown ) Note: Make sure the polarity is correct. Insert mains wire through EVA gasket C,then through fixture wall plate,put in place fixture back plate screws,and mounts the back plate to the wall using the drywall screws and plastic masonry plugs, On completion connect the mains wire to the connection block,ensure the polarity is correct, On completion use screw nuts A to fasten tightly the main body of the light fixture with B the back plate screws. Note: Make sure all the wires are properly connected inside the connection block before attaching the main light fixture with the back plate. 5

6 Recommended mounting height and installation area selection. It is recommended to mount the Night Watcher fixture between 6.6ft (2m) 10ft (3m) above ground for an optimum performance. When selecting your installation area its import to be aware of positioning the fixture sight line due to possible factors that could cause false triggering ; such as direct sunlight, window refection, air condition units, swimming pool reflection, direct street lighting or large vegetation in the installation area. To prolong the lifespan of the Night Watcher fixture it is advised to install the unit in a selected area that is not directly exposed to extreme weather conditions and only if possible mount on a wall under an eave or soffit based on the recommended mounting height. OPERATION 6

7 To Test the Fixture Mode functions After Day Time Installation Continue on the LED light function modes: Push the mode setting button situated at the bottom of the fixture to select the desired mode function setting: The Mode LED Indicator behind the sensor lens will display different LED lights colors stating the different mode sections. The LED light will turn off after 30 seconds without any sensor detection activities. 1. Mode 1: RED (default setting) - Camera will follow motion and record during the day and night - Light will illuminate at night only - Speaker will operate at night only 2. Mode 2: ORANGE - Camera will follow motion and record during the day and night - Light illuminates during the day and night - Speaker operates during the day and night 3. Mode 3: GREEN - Camera will follow motion and record during the day and night - Light will illuminate at night only - Speaker will operate during the day only 4. Mode 4: Motor Override Mode: Hold the Mode button for 3 seconds to dis-engage the motion motor feature. - The light head will remain home position. - Camera will still record during day and night - Light illuminates during day. - Audio is disabled. Mode 1 (Default) Mode 2 Mode LED indicator (Hidden inside the lens) RED ORANGE Symbol Mode 3 GREEN 7

8 The default setting is Mode 1. Under mode 1, if you want to select motor override function, press the mode pushbutton located at the bottom of the fixture in for 3 seconds and a noticeable red LED light will flash rapidly through the front PIR lens cover of the fixture that indicates this mode selection. To switch Mode 1 to other 2 modes for the motor override function, press the mode push-button for 1 seocnd and noticeable orange LED light or green LED light will flash rapidly through the front PIR lens cover of the fixture that indicates this mode selection. (Note: repeat the same instructions if the working mode in the beginning is mode 2 or mode 3) On above selections the fixture LED head will be set in a fixed position. On motion sensor activations the LED light source will come on and off with the LED head in a fixed or stationed position in the middle of the fixture. To resume with the standard and primary motorized LED head rotations function mode. Re-press the mode pushbottom in for 3 seconds and the LED head will rotate normally and illuminate activations between the 3 built-in PIR motion sensor zones. Audio mode setting: For selecting which audio message will play when motion sensor detects movement. Users can record their own sound to be played or select pre-recorded sound. o o o Pre-set default is silent mode Push once for doorbell chime Push again for dog barking o Push once more for the message you recorded (Message 1) o Push again for additional message you recorded (Message 2- you can record up to 2 messages at a time) AUDIO MODE SET/REC PLAY/ERASE MIC 8

9 Recording audio message 1. Press the SET/REC button for 3 seconds, and you will hear a single beep. After the beep, start recording your message by talking into the microphone (see fig. 9). Push the button again to stop recording, and you will hear a series of 2 beeps, meaning the recording is finished. If you do not push the button again after you have recorded the message, the recording will stop automatically after 10 seconds. 2. Nightwatcher NW760 can hold 2 self-recorded messages. If you have recorded one message, repeat above step for message 2. 3. If you hear a series of 3 beeps when you want to record your message by pressing the SET/REC button for 3 seconds, this means the self-recorded messages are full, please erase previous messages. Play/Erase: allows you to listen to and erase messages 1. If you have only recorded 1 message, push the button one time to listen to recorded Message 1. If you wish to erase it, press the PLAY/ERASE button and hold it for 3 seconds. You will hear a series of 2 beeps, indicating the message has been erased. 2. If you have recorded 2 messages, push the button one time to listen to the first message, and push it again to listen to the second message. If you want to erase a message, select that message, and after listening to it, push the PLAY/ERASE button and hold it for 3 seconds to erase it. 3. If message 1 is erased, message 2 will automatically become message 1. The next message you record will then become the new message 2. SD Card Installation: To insert and remove the SD card for onboard recording use Allen Key H. The SD card can be inserted prior to the installation and device being powered or mode 4 can be activated to stop the LED head from turning to insert the SD card. 9

10 Connecting the NW760 to the Wi-Fi Network The NightWatcher NW 760 has a built-in Wi-Fi module which can be connected to the local Wi-Fi network, enabling the broadcast of live video and message alerts to a dedicated app, running on an ios or Android smartphone. The performance of the NightWatcher is dependent on the quality of the Wi-Fi signal and we therefore recommend the following prior to installation; Ensure the NightWatcher is installed within close range of the Wi-Fi router. Stand next to the NightWatcher and test the strength of the Wi-Fi signal using a smartphone or perform a Wi-Fi survey to determine the signal strength around the premise. For instructions please visit the Support Page from website: www.iqinnovations.com.au Avoid thick exterior walls as these can limit the range of the Wi-Fi signal. If the Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough, consider the following options; If possible, relocate the router closer to the NightWatcher Install a Wi-Fi Range Extender closer to the NightWatcher Installation Summary The installation process involves the following steps; 1. After installation, power up the NightWatcher. 2. Press and hold the Mode button on the base of the NW760 to disable the light movement. (The light in the PIR will flash) 3. Open the SD card flap using the Allen key provided and insert the Micro-SD card with the text facing up, then close and secure the SD card flap. 4. To download the free IQ Nightwater app to an ios or Android device, please search IQ Nightwatcher from the app store and google play or visit the website www.iqinnovations.com.au to download the apps. 5. Using the instructions below using the app, the Night Watcher s unique ID is permanently connected to the Wi- Fi. 6. Once the NightWatcher is successfully connected, the light next to the SD Card flap will turn blue. The light will flash blue whilst connecting to the Wi-Fi and remain a steady blue when connected. 7. Press the Mode button on the base of the NW760 to activate the robotic motion. (The light in the PIR will change to a solid colour) 1

11 NB: If the connection is not successful, you can reset the NightWatcher; Press and hold the Mode button on the base of the NW760 in for 3 seconds to disable the light motorized function (The light in the PIR will flash in red color that indicates the motor override mode } Press and hold the reset button on the top of the NightWatcher for 3 seconds. The light next to the SD card flap will change to flashing blue color to indicate the reset has been successful and then repeat the Wi-Fi pairing process below. 1

12 Connecting the NW760 to your Phone or Tablet Firstly ensure your phone or tablet is connected to the Wi-Fi network you intend to use for the NightWatcher NW760. 1. Open the IQ Nightwatcher App 2. First time in, select Sign Up to create your unique account, then select Log In 1

13 3. Connect your NW760 to the Wi-Fi network by pressing + 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the NW760 to the Wi-Fi network. 5. STEP 1: Connect the NightWatcher to the mains power supply and after it has completed its startup process (approx. 45 sec) press Next. 1

14 6. STEP 2: Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as you plan to connect the Night Watcher, then press Next 7. STEP 3: Your Wi-Fi network should be displayed, then enter the Wi-Fi Password and click Next. 1

15 8. STEP 4: Ensure the Night Watcher is in standby mode by pressing the Mode button on the base. Then press the Reset button as shown in the diagram for 3 seconds and the blue status indicator light will flash rapidly, then press Next. 9. STEP 5: Next your phone will generate a QR code which is pointed at the Night Watcher camera lens to connect to the Wi-Fi network. When ready press Next. 1

16 10. STEP 6: Checking that the blue status indicator light is still blinking rapidly, point the QR code displayed on your phone at the Night Watcher camera (approx. 15-30cm distance) until the status indicator firstly turns red briefly and then to a slow flashing blue. Then press Next. 11. STEP 7: When the Night Watcher is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, the status indicator light will remain a solid blue color. 1

17 12. STEP 8: When the Night Watcher is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, the screen below will display. Then click Next and you will receive a confirmation message. 1

18 15. If the status indicator turns and stays red then the configuration has not been successful and the message below will display on your phone. Either repeat the process from STEP 1 or go to ADD DEVICE MANUALLY below. 1

19 ADD DEVICE MANUALLY 1. If the status indicator turns red the configuration has not been successful as shown in the screen below, so you can alternatively connect the camera manually to your Wi-Fi network following the instructions below. 2. STEP 1: Get Camera ID; On the side panel of the NightWatcher there is a label with a QR code and the camera ID. From the screen below, select Scan QR Code and point your phone s camera at the label to read the unique QR code. When the QR code has been read successfully the scan will stop and you will see the Camera ID displayed. Alternatively enter the Camera ID number displayed on the label. 1

20 2. STEP 2: Wi-Fi Connection; In order to connect your NightWatcher to your Wi-Fi network, press Generate QR code for Wi-Fi. In the next screen below, confirm the selected Wi-Fi Network, enter the Wi-Fi password and then click Next. 3. The screen will now display a QR code as shown below. Press and hold the RESET button on the NightWatcher until the blue status indicator light is blinking rapidly and point the QR code on your phone at the NightWatcher camera (approx. 15-30cm distance) until the status indicator firstly turns red briefly and then to a slow flashing blue. Then press Next. 2

21 4. When the NightWatcher is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, the screen below will display. Then click Next and you will receive a confirmation message. 2

22 5. If the status indicator light remains red the configuration is not successful and the screen below will display Camera status Offline. Press the back button to Add Camera page and configure again. If this display Camera status Online. Press Submit to finish configuration process. 2

23 LIVE VIEWING: This is the Home Screen where you can view your camera(s). If your connection is successful then you will see the ID number of your NightWatcher underneath the picture frame. (You can change the camera ID to a name; i.e. Garden, Front & etc. in Camera Settings) In order to view your camera live, touch the frame above the camera number or name and then press the arrow. 2
