Comoser s Notes In 2006, I as ith my friend, effrey oers, at a regional horn conference. One evening e ere out to dinner discussing some of his exeriences laying in orchestras abroad. At the end of the conversation, he made the statement, I enjoyed the exerience, but as so glad to get back to big sky country. That as the true birth of this iece. I filed aay that statement, alays intending it to be the title for a iece for horn choir. My oortunity came a fe years back hen eter Kurau and the Eastman Horn Choir asked me to rite a iece for them. I jumed at the oortunity, but as unhay ith the ay the iece turned out. on being acceted to resent a recital of horn choir music at the International Horn Symosium inaugust of 2015, I ulled the iece back out and comletely rerote and revised it.
