Final Report Jointly organized by China Musical Instrument Association, Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd, and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Music China 2016 was held successfully at Shanghai New International Expo Centre on Oct. 26-29. Although constrained by international economic development and US-Euro musical instrument market is still chilling, China s cultural consumer market is developing vigorously, including popularity of music education and expansion of music culture consumer market, which brings more business opportunities and broader market to explore for both domestic and foreign musical instrument manufacturers and distributors. Our exhibition grows from 105,000 M 2 last year to 112,000 M 2 this year, attracting 1909 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions. There are also 10 Pavilions exhibiting, which are from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, UK and Taiwan.
Many famous brands like Pearl River, Hsinghai, Youngchang, Fengling, Hailun, Jinbao, Parsons, Best Friend, Jinyin, Medeli, Starsun, Yuehai, Ringway, KHS, Kapok, Yamaha, Casio, Steinway, Roland, Samick, Shanghai No.1 National Musical Instruments Factory etc, have brought their new and fine products to display on site. Although the four-day exhibition suffered heavy rain this year, the 10 halls were still crowded with enthusiastic visitors. The exhibition totally attracts 90,125 professional visitors at home and abroad from 86 countries and regions and increases nearly 1000 visitors compared with last year. The total number of visits achieves 135,045 with 4,171 overseas. The number of buyers increases significantly, especially music education institutions all over the world. Meanwhile, with the influence of our exhibition, more music lovers come to the show. Different kinds of demands from visitors of different countries in different occupation can all be achieved. Distributors/agencies, retailers/wholesalers, music academies, performing groups, music lovers all kinds of people gather in Music China, which makes it a good platform and annual event in music industry for business procurement, brand promotion and business negotiation. Visitor Statistics According to the survey, 94% exhibitors were satisfied with on-site orders; 95% exhibitors established new business links via the show; 96% exhibitors were satisfied with visitors quality; 94% exhibitors were positive on the visitors numbers. In addition, with the diversification of fringe programs, visitors also take active part in all activities. As the Most Innovative Exhibition awarded by China s leading trade magazine Events Fortune, Music China plays a significant role in culture and education development. This year, a variety of forums and seminars were successfully held and keep visitors with the industry pace, including NAMM CMIA Industry Forum, NAMM Universities, Global Forum on Chinese Traditional Music, Stringed and Bowed Instruments Series Porgram, Educational Program, All about Jazz, Kids Music Castle, Seminars of Technology and Innovation and Live Shows. Overall, being widely recognized as one of the largest gatherings in the international MI industry, Music China has achieved a lot this year. We sincerely hope that we could make significant progress next year with the advice and assistance from the whole industry.
