ENCORE is a non-profit Educational Theatre Company that strives, through arts education and mentorship programs, to instruct students in all aspects of the performing arts and to teach life-skills and instill values that translate to the world beyond the stage. This production of Shakespeare s Romeo & Juliet is open to ages 13-adult and is by audition only. All potential cast members must pay a deposit prior to scheduling and audition. If not cast in the show, the deposit will be refunded in full. Those performances would be held during the school day. Currently we have planned field trips for Tuesday & Wednesday, April 25-26, although that may change. Tuition and Fee Information This production is by audition only. All participants MUST pay a deposit of $200 (or full tuition for adults) prior to being given an audition appointment. If cast, remaining tuition is due by 3/21/17. Student Tuition: $425* ($200 Deposit due prior to auditions; remainder due 3/21/17) Adult Participants: $295* (for any adult over age 27) due prior to auditions * Deposit/Tuition is fully refundable if not cast in the show. Tickets: 20 tickets per family (due April 18, 2017) Registration Guidelines You MUST register online at www.encoresouthbay.org through the Account Login link on the main page, then the Productions link on the Login/Enroll page. All of our policies/procedures and waivers are now digitally signed online through the online registration system. Once you have registered and paid your audition deposit, we will send you a link to sign up for an audition. Please fill out the following forms (one each per cast member unless otherwise noted) and bring them to Registration. Come to your audition with a prepared 2-3 minute Shakespeare monologue. A dramatic monologue is preferred, but nothing too heavy. As a second option you MAY prepare a monologue from classic American theatre. If a cast member is invited to come to callback auditions, they may be informed anytime between March 4 & March 11, 2017. Some people may be called for more than one day. We are unable to schedule callbacks around conflicts. If you are unable to come to your scheduled callback audition, we may not be able to consider you for that lead part. Once the final casting decisions have been made the cast list will be sent via email & posted on our website at www.encoresouthbay.org. Casting is a very time-consuming process. Name Show: Volunteer Policy We are not able to provide the quality production experience we do without the very significant efforts of every family involved. Therefore we require every family INCLUDING ALL CAST MEMBERS OVER 18 to volunteer for one Pre/Post-Production job. Every family is also responsible for at least two jobs during Tech Week. Those jobs are NOT listed on this form. We will post a specific Tech Week volunteer schedule online a few weeks before Tech Week so you can choose the specific dates you want to work. Buyouts: We recognize that some families have life situations that preclude them from volunteering at all, therefore we offer the option to buyout of volunteering for a fee of $150. Pre-Tech and Coordinator Volunteer Opportunities *Tech Week Meal Coordinator - Plans meals, takes orders, places orders, and arranges for food to be picked up and served to cast members during dinner break the whole of Tech Week. Casino Night Committee-Help with preparations for our Casino Night in the Spring. May include planning and helping with decorations, soliciting donations, organizing Silent Auction materials, Registration, and more! Costume Fitting Assistants - Help pull costumes and get them organized and help with the fitting of cast members on costume fitting days, getting them labeled, organized and packed. Set Construction/Painting - Help to build, paint and decorate the sets. Experienced carpenters might work on projects at home prior to workdays where others can do finish work and painting. Costumes - Several people needed to help cut, sew, glue, iron, shop, or otherwise help assemble the various looks determined by the Costume Designer. Experienced seamstresses would be especially appreciated, but willing hands are always helpful! Laundry helpers - At the Encore Scene shop, wash, dry and hang costumes back in the costume storage area. General Labor/Office helpers - We occasionally need help with a variety of jobs not specific to a show, such as running errands, organizing props at the Encore shop, cleaning the Studios or Shop, filing, data entry or any number of other things. If you are available during the day and would be willing to do some of these, sign up in this category Errand Runner We often need help picking up the many things that go into the show. This job requires that you have access to a car, are potentially up for significant distance driving ( Los Angeles/Burbank), and are available on weekdays during business hours.
