Introduction firmware version V1.20 This release note describes the features and capabilities included in the Cisco TelePresence VX Clinical Assistant firmware version V1.20 released as of January 2013. Firmware version V1.20 applies to the WIL-A-001 module within the Cisco TelePresence VX Clinical Assistant and not the codec. Important: TC6.0.0 or greater codec software is required for correct operation of the V1.20 firmware Cisco software release notes can be located here: http://www.cisco.com/en/us/products/ps11327/prod_release_notes_list.html New features Main Video Mode During a call, if the main camera button is pressed for 5 seconds the system will go into Main Video Mode (indicated by an on screen message) at this point any selected video source will be transmitted as the main video source (not as a presentation). This mode is disabled by pressing the main camera button again for 5 seconds or after the call disconnects. Press Main Camera for 5 seconds, in a call to enable or disable Main Video Mode Cisco Clinical Assistant Main Video Source Mode Enabled Cisco Clinical Assistant Main Video Source Mode Disabled All sources sent as main video source Sources 1 5 & Computer sent as a presentation 5

Status message The status massage displays the codec model and whether the monitor mode is set to single or dual. Presentation sources maintain their aspect ratio Video resolutions with a 4:3 aspect ratio (like SD and XGA) will be displayed locally and transmitted maintaining the same aspect ratio. In Versions 1.00 & 1.10 the scaling of the SD image to 1080p also stretched the image horizontally to fill the screen. Figure 2: Transmitting a SD Video Source Figure 1: HD and 4:3 Aspect Ratio Note: The WIL-D-001 module will need the scaler firmware upgrade to V1.03 to maintain the aspect ratio. Please contact Technical Support regarding scaler firmware upgrade. 6

Hardware changes Released February 2013 the VX Clinical Assistant (Version 1.2) includes the following component changes. These changes do not affect the base operation but do offer the improved capabilities of the SX20. It is now necessary to identify the codec platform of the VXCA as parts are not necessarily interchangeable. Cisco TelePresence SX20 Codec Provides the same features and functions as the Cisco C20 codec version, in addition to MultiSite (optional) and main video transmission at 1080p@60fps (1080p@15fps for the presentation video). Figure 1: Cisco SX20 Figure 2: SX20 installed in VXCA 1.2 From more information on the Cisco TelePresence SX20, please see the Reference and Related Documents section within this release notes. Cisco PrecisionHD 4x Camera This latest generation of 4x camera supports 1080p @ 60fps and uses the Cisco custom adaptor of HDMI, power + control. Remove this cable to support the PrecisionHD 12x and older 4x camera. New 24 monitor The specifications and capabilities are equivalent to the current model though a modification to the mounting bracket was required to bring the monitor forward 2 (5cm) to allow for the DVI-D video connection. The monitor itself is DC powered with the AC/DC transformer installed in the base section. Front Panel Audio In Connecting a source to this input now mutes the audio from the PC connection in the rear interface panel. Identifying your VXCA platform The VXCA platform can identified in the following ways: By reading the codec model from the system status message (see above) System Serial number format: o C20 platform (Version: 1.0 & 1.1): FPT Y _ o SX20 platform (Version 1.2): FPT V _ Cisco PID (product ID) seen on the system label on the base of the VXCA: o C20 platform (Version: 1.0 & 1.1): CTS-CA-K9 or CTS-CA-P240V-K9 o SX20 platform (Version 1.2): CTS-CA2-K9 or CTS-CA2-P240V-K9 7
