Heather Farren received her Bachelor of Music, vocal emphasis, at West Texas A&M University. She is in her 16th year of teaching. Heather taught elementary music for seven years with Amarillo ISD before joining the Canyon ISD team. Heather began her CISD career at Greenways Intermediate where she taught fifth grade general music and accompanied the sixth grade choirs. She served Greenways for five years before her current assignment at Canyon Intermediate School, where she teaches fifth grade general music and is choir director for Canyon s sixth graders. The Canyon Intermediate choir boasts 190 beginning choir students. There are three choirs at this campus; Boys choir, Girls choir, and the audition mixed ensemble, Eagle Select. Heather has the honor of teaching with Joan Weber at CIS. Together they make an incredible team. Heather also enjoys serving her church. She accompanies the children choirs, youth choir, and subs as worship pianist. When she is not busy at the piano, she enjoys singing in the adult choir under the direction of her husband. Heather is married to Brandon Farren. Together they have two children, Christian, age 16, and Madeleine, age 13. They make their home in Canyon, TX. About the Accompanist Sherylin Robinson graduated from West Texas State University (now WTAMU) in 1986 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy. In addition to teaching private piano for 25 years, Mrs. Robinson has served as a church musician, a ballet class accompanist, a contract music therapist, and an accompanist for both band and choir students. Mrs. Robinson is married to her wonderful husband of over twenty-seven years and, is the loving mother of four children. Mrs. Robinson cherishes the love of music that permeates not only her own life, but also the lives of her students and children; many of her piano students are heavily involved in music and the arts, and all four of her children have been or are currently involved in the Canyon choir program. It is most certainly truth to say that Mrs. Robinson has been truly, deeply, and enduringly impacted by the gift of music. TEXAS MUSIC FEBRUARY 8 11, 2012 HENRY B.
