THE ADVENTURES OF VEN & STAR Going to Mars Sky Diving Canoe Trip And Others Copyright 2014 Osa Ann Corkill Moore OsaMoore.com

PROLOGUE These are the last of my drawings that were done during my time of being-- -I call lost in the world of telling stories through drawings. I must say I am still mystified as to where the ability to draw came from. I had never before thought I had any drawing ability. And I might add, I feel as if that ability is now gone. I certainly feel that, wherever it might have come from, it was special gift at a time when life was not easy. A time-- when many days were filled with uncertainty, sadness and fear. It gave me energy and motivation as it fired up my adrenal. It gave me the realization that joy and happiness could be found in the deep valleys or our lives. All of you have the book The Adventures of Ven so you know where the character Ven came from. From the drawings in the book, I took the one drawing pictures that I used to tell the story and elaborated on it. Elaborated by adding other drawings telling the story in detail. Many of the stories are from the poem---- When I grow old. Other stories are from Ven & Star episodes. Laugh with me as you look at and read the book. Smile with me when you remember the joy that I found in putting this together. Osa Corkill Moore October 18, 2014 2

THE POEM WHEN I GROW OLD For those of you who might not be familiar with the poem I am including it in the book. WHEN I AM AN OLD WOMAN I SHALL WEAR PURPLE With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick the flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes 3

I WANT SOME BUTTER From the poem When I Grow Old I will wear purple and a red hat I will spend my pension on Brandy I will say I have no money for butter 4
