Comare and Contrast - for euhonium and tuba, duration c. 6:15 Program Note The himsical title refers to one of the education orld s best knon devices for test riting. Hoever, this iece is not a test, but rather a tribute to rofessor and student. The iece as requested by my southeastern USA friend, colleague, comoser and tubist Dr. oe L. Alexander. The ork as first erformed by Dr. Alexander his star euhonium student Cody Ford in Aril 2014 at Louisiana Tech University at Ruston in a concert sonsored by the Mid-South Chater of the National Association of Comosers U.S.A (NACUSA). The iece starts off slo and lyrical. Then it moves on to faster rhythms. About half ay through, it changes temo to quarter note at 104 bm and the iece begins laying off a variety of harmonic intervals and eventually closes sloly as it began. Comoser Bio Wisconsin native Ken Davies (.kendavies.net) has had acoustic and electronic orks erformed at numerous ne music festivals such as the Society of Comosers, Electroacoustic Barn Dance, Southeastern Comosers League (he is a ast resident), Electronic Music Midest, International Trombone Festival, National Association of Comosers USA, Christian Felloshi of Art Music Comosers, Parma Music Festival, London Ne Wind Festival (UK), and Sonic Coast (UK).!!Since 2002, he resides in coastal south Mississii.
