It is a relentless oray into a acile-ingered old. While initially sounding sinister, it takes on a light-hearted respite during the oasis that is the relative maor. Not to be outdone, the diabolical nature returns with a vengeance to send this piece to its urious conclusion. The piece is dedicated to Mary Kay Godrey, who provided the materials necessary to complete this composition. PERORMANCE TIPS: Light tonguing should be emphasized so as not to allow the tempo to become heavy and burdensome. Do not allow this piece to bog down in its own technical demands. Start slowly, maintaining rhythmic accuracy, and as you become more amiliar and comortable with the ingers and where the notes all, gradually increase the tempo to the speciied marking. Kevin Kaisershot was born in Dickinson, North Dakota and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. His ormal training was received at the University o Nebraska-Lincoln (BME) and Illinois State University (MM). He has done additional post-graduate work at both Northern Illinois University and Vandercook College o Music. He has studied trumpet with Dennis Schneider and Richard Lehman. He has also studied conducting with Jack R. Snider, Robert B. Allan, Alan McMurray, Mallory Thompson and Richard loyd. He lives in Aurora, Illinois where he is a reelance composer/arranger and trumpet soloist as well as a music teacher in one o the local area school districts. Kevin Kaisershot has taught at all levels o instrumental music, both at the public school level (24 years) and the college level (ive years). He is a member o several proessional organizations, including the International Trumpet Guild, Illinois Music Educators Association, MENC and ASCAP. Among some o his most recent honors, Mr. Kaisershot has been honored with inclusion in several yearly editions o Who's Who Among America's Teachers. He also received in1997 the Award o Recognition rom the Illinois State Board o Education as part o their "Those Who Excel" Program. As a conductor, clinician, and composer, Mr. Kaisershot has become well traveled throughout the Mid-West, and has achieved somewhat o a ollowing worldwide, where his music has received critical acclaim. His band and orchestra compositions are presently on several state contest lists. He has won several awards or his band compositions including the distinction that his march entitled Spectre o ortune was adopted by the State o Massachusetts Lion's Club Organizations as their oicial march. He is also a ten-time recipient o the annual ASCAP standard awards or his contributions to the advancement o American/Educational music.
