All of the arts of Chorale antasy are ritten ithin the singing range of the human voice. The ork is affectionately dedicated to the orromeo Quartet. Mohammed airouz Chorale antasy is recorded on "Native Informant," Naxos American Classics CD 8.559744, erformed by the orromeo String Quartet. Mohammed airouz, born in 1985, is one of the most frequently erformed, commissioned, and recorded comosers of his generation. Hailed by The Ne York Times as an imortant ne artistic voice and by C World Nes as one of the most talented comosers of his generation, airouz melds Middle-Eastern modes and Western structures to deely exressive effect. His large-scale orks, including four symhonies and an oera, engage maor geoolitical and hilosohical themes ith ersuasive craft and a marked seriousness of urose. His solo and chamber music attains an intoxicating intimacy, according to Ne York s WQXR. A truly cosmoolitan voice, airouz had a transatlantic ubringing. y his early teens, the Arab- American comoser had traveled across five continents, immersing himself in the musical life of his surroundings. Prominent advocates of his instrumental music include the orromeo and Lydian String Quartets, the Imani Winds, The Knights Chamber Orchestra, Metroolis Ensemble, violinists Rachel arton Pine and ames usell, clarinetist David Krakauer, and conductors Gunther Schuller, azi Haimor, and Yoon ae Lee. He has been recognized as an exert in vocal riting by the Ne Yorker magazine and as a ost-millennial Schubert by Gramohone Magazine. Among the eminent singers that have romoted his ealth of vocal music are Kate Lindsey, Sasha Cooke, Lucy Shelton, D Anna ortunato, David Kravitz and Randall Scarlata.
