Run by an elected Board of Directors and supported through the dedication of its volunteers, Thibodaux Playhouse currently produces three straight plays and one musical per season. The Playhouse additionally hosts three children s musical workshop productions through its outreach program, TPI, Jr. The program encourages area youth to embrace the performing arts while providing an educational environment that fosters creativity in children aged 7-15. Now in its 56 th year, Thibodaux Playhouse continues to work with community members to ensure that the art of theatre will remain an active and vibrant part of the Thibodaux area.

Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancées, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves. Auditions: August 3-4 7:00 pm 1120 Caroline St.

General Admission Seating 30 minutes prior to curtain January 15-16 and 22-23, 2016 7:30 January 24, 2016 2:00 In this hilarious comedic romp, four friends have sworn to keep the promise they made on the night of their Senior Prom: to be in each other s weddings no matter what. More than thirty years later, these Southern friends-for-life are still determined to honor that vow. Hop on this marriage-go-round for a laugh-out-loud journey with these beleaguered bridesmaids as they navigate the choppy waters of love and matrimony. If you ve ever elbowed a stranger out of the way to catch a bride s bouquet, seriously questioned the mental stability of the duo saying I do, or been forced to wear the world s ugliest bridesmaid dress, this deliriously funny JONES HOPE WOOTEN COM- EDY is definitely for you and your dearly beloved! As the performers try to pay their respects to the old-fashioned soap operas, westerns, and detective shows of the past, on-set rivalries and clashing egos threaten to spiral the entire production out of control. The hapless hosts of the show struggle to keep their cast in line as their show goes on the air live, all the time facing the specter of the grimmest fate of all: cancellation! Blake M. Petit is a writer, columnist, reviewer, podcaster, actor, director, and teacher from Ama, Louisiana. He is the author of several novels, short stories, and books of pop culture analysis available both in print and ebook form. Blake is a member of the board of directors of the Thibodaux Playhouse theatre company, where his original stage play The 3-D Radio Show was produced in 2004. Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler crafted a tasty, thrilling, theatrical treat with Sweeney Todd that has simultaneously shocked, awed, and delighted audiences across the world. An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to 19th century London seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice.
