Performance Suggestions Your hymn arrangement is designed to be very flexible accommodatg many different struments. Along with the stard brass quartet/qutet timpani parts you will also fd parts written for duet /or trio struments. The uet parts are terchangeable between different struments so that if you have a trumpet, alto sax trombone (or any other combation), each strument may use its own part, you can have them alternate between 1 st, 2 nd descant parts. You may want to use parts for the first verse, solo or unison melody with different struments on various middle verses, then parts with descant on the fal verse. It s your choice dependg on your needs the abilities of your musicians. The brass arrangement will work as a trio, quartet, qutet, large brass choir or even a b of mixed brass, wd strg struments. All the parts are marked with doublgs substitutions, performance suggestions are listed on the bottom of the page. You may want to beg the hymn with a brass troduction either the entire verse, or a portion of it then have them play with the congregation for the 1 st verse; the second verse can be accompanied by piano/organ alone ( guitars if you have them); for the third verse you may want to feature a solo strument with piano/organ, then brg the entire ensemble along with descant for the fal verse. Aga, it s your choice. Experiment with different colors combations. Along with duet, b orchestra parts you will also fd a guitar voice lead sheet this hymn edition. The guitar chords will work with the piano strumental parts, or you may use the guitar by itself perfect for small gathergs, retreats or services where no piano is available.
