On Saturday 14 th October, I m going to the cinema at GU Film House for the Adelaide Film Festival.
I m going to the cinema at 11.30. The film will start at 12.30pm but I can go into GU Film House Cinema 5 from 11.30am to look around if I like. When I get to the cinema, I will need to get a ticket. I might have to wait in a queue but it won t take long.
This is the candy bar, where they serve snacks for the movie. If I want to, I can get something to eat and drink. The candy bar sells popcorn, drinks and other snacks.
Before we take our seats in the cinema, I can use the toilet. If I need to use the toilet, I can ask the person I am with. FEMALE TOILET MALE TOILET UNISEX ACCESS TOILET
We will need to show our tickets to an usher in uniform who will look like this
We can now go inside the cinema. It is full of seats! We get to choose our seats. We can sit at the front, middle or back. My seat will look like this
When it is time for the movie to start, a voice will ask everyone to turn to turn off their phones. The cinema will also get darker (but not completely dark) and it will be a little noisy (but not too loud). This is when everyone will be quieter.
Sometimes, parts of the movie might be loud. If the sound bothers me, I can put my hands over my ears or wear my ear defenders. If it gets too loud or uncomfortable, it is ok to leave the cinema. If I want to take a break from the film, I can leave the cinema and go to the Chill Out Room. I can return to the cinema when I am ready. There will be chairs for me to sit on and I can sit where I want.
I m going to see a film called, My Life as a Zucchini The film is about a boy named Icare but he likes to be called Courgette. After his mother s sudden death, Courgette is befriended by a kind police officer named Raymond. Raymond takes Courgette to an orphanage. Simon is one of the kids there and he picks on Courgette but after a fight they become friends. One day, a new girl named Camille arrives, and Courgette develops a crush on her at first sight. Courgette grows close to Officer Raymond and sends letters and drawings to him. Raymond and Courgette plan a day out and Camille hides in Raymond's car. Raymond agrees to bring both kids to the outing. They have a fun time at an amusement park and then they go to Raymond's house, where Raymond tells them that he has a son that never talks to him. But then, Camille's aunt appears and angrily takes Camille away.
A few weeks later there is a custody meeting with the judge. There, Camille reveals that Simon had sneaked an MP3 player into her toy boat that she's used to record her aunt insulting her mom and yelling at her. The aunt loses her temper at Camille right in front of the judge, destroying her bid for custody. Raymond finally decides to take both Courgette and Camille in as foster children. While living with Raymond, Courgette still writes letters to the kids at the orphanage, telling the kids that he, Camille and Raymond are people that still love them all. Courgette now keeps a group photo of the kids on his kite. When the film has finished the lights will get a little brighter and I will leave the cinema. I am very excited to visit the cinema!
