National Theatre Live National Theatre Live is the National Theatre s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre from the London stage to cinemas. Amadeus 12A Thursday 2nd February Music. Power. Jealousy. Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer s iconic play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a rowdy young prodigy, arrives in Vienna, the music capital of the world and he s determined to make a splash. Awestruck by his genius, court composer Antonio Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God. After winning multiple Olivier and Tony Awards when it had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1979, Amadeus was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film. Saint Joan - 12A Thursday 16th February Gemma Arterton is Joan of Arc, broadcast live from the Donmar Warehouse. Bernard Shaw s classic play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. As one of the first Protestants and Nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe. Josie Rourke (Coriolanus, Les Liaisons Dangereuses) directs Gemma Arterton (Gemma Bovery, Nell Gwynn, Made in Dagenham) as Joan of Arc in this electrifying production. Muni www.acecentre.co.uk 2

National Theatre Live Hedda Gabler - 12A Thursday 9th March I ve no talent for life. Just married. Bored already. Hedda longs to be free... Hedda and Tesman have just returned from their honeymoon and the relationship is already in trouble. Trapped but determined, Hedda tries to control those around her, only to see her own world unravel. Tony Award-winning director Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge at the Young Vic Theatre) returns to National Theatre Live screens with a modern production of Ibsen s masterpiece. Ruth Wilson (Luther, The Affair, Jane Eyre) plays the title role in a new version by Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal, Closer). Twelfth Night - 12A Thursday 6th April Tamsin Greig is Malvolia in a new twist on Shakespeare s classic comedy of mistaken identity. A ship is wrecked on the rocks. Viola is washed ashore but her twin brother Sebastian is lost. Determined to survive on her own, she steps out to explore a new land. So begins a whirlwind of mistaken identity and unrequited love. The nearby households of Olivia and Orsino are overrun with passion. Even Olivia's upright housekeeper Malvolia is swept up in the madness. Where music is the food of love, and nobody is quite what they seem, anything proves possible. Simon Godwin (NT Live: Man and Superman, NT Live: The Beaux Stratagem) directs this joyous new production with Tamsin Greig (Friday Night Dinner, Black Books, Episodes) as a transformed Malvolia and an ensemble cast that includes Daniel Rigby (Flowers, Jericho), Tamara Lawrence (Undercover), Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony) and Daniel Ezra (The Missing, Undercover). Courtyard Bistro bar opens: 6.00pm (drinks only) Doors: 6.30pm All NTL Screenings: 7.00pm Tickets: 13 (adults), 12 (concessions - over 60s / students) Muni www.acecentre.co.uk 3

Me Before You Monday January 23rd Often you find love where you least expect it. Sometimes it takes you where you never expected to go Louisa Lou Clark lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. With no clear direction in her life, the quirky and creative 26-year-old goes from one job to the next in order to help her tight-knit family make ends meet. Her normally cheery outlook is put to the test, however, when she faces her newest career challenge. Taking a job at the local castle, she becomes caregiver and companion to Will Traynor (Claflin), a wealthy young banker who became wheelchair bound in an accident two years prior, and whose whole world changed dramatically in the blink of an eye. Running Time: 110 mins (12A) One Chance Monday February 20th The true story of Paul Potts - a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night, who became a phenomenon after being chosen for - and ultimately winning - Britain's Got Talent (2007). Running Time: 119 mins (15) The Revenant Monday April 17th Inspired by true events, The Revenant is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. Running Time: 153 mins (15) Eddie The Eagle Monday May 22nd Eddie the Eagle follows the realisation of the childhood dream of Michael Edwards (a.k.a Eddie), and his unflinching determination to become Great Britain s first Olympic ski-jumper. Reluctantly aided by former ski-jumper Bronson Peary as his coach, Eddie is unwavering in his quest to reach the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. Eddie the Eagle is an uplifting, inspirational story that celebrates human spirit, passion, and one man s refusal to accept defeat. Running Time: 103 mins (PG) Muni www.acecentre.co.uk 5

The two are encouraged to get along by their friends, Fred and Daisy. Daisy is Libby's assistant and greatest admirer.
