Also typed on the back is the small article that must have appeared with the photo, or was info given with it at the time. It says:- Blond pop star Dusty Springfield, 23, was singing again yesterday (Tuesday 21/1/64), after a week's rest on doctors orders. Her first job: a disc recording session in a West End studio. That's Dusty, wearing a chic two piece python outfit and high zip-up boots as she sits in front of the mic rophone. Only a week ago she cancelled her engagements after being told she was on the verge of collapse. dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 1/6

Unlike today, if a record got to no.3 back then, it was massive. Carole x 5404 Posts Mads Where am I going? Posted - 18/02/2007 : 10:41:44 OMG that does not even look like Dusty!!! shoot. I hadnt seen the article either and had no idea that Dusty was a Patron for the then Mentally Handicaped. Today those lovely people would perhaps be classed as Special Needs a subject that is close to my heart. I enjoy working with people who have special needs of any kind and sometimes help my friend Sharon who teaches Line Dancing to them on a Monday afternoon, I have 2 left feet and cant dance for the life in me but it is so much fun and I come away knowing how lucky I am. Sorry to go off topic but its lovely to know Dusty cared. 8313 Posts Casx Corinna Forum Admin Posted - 19/02/2007 : 20:49:53 I noticed that too, Cas. Very lovely. How did she ever find the time! No wonder she almost had a burn-out. Cor xx Sweden 6080 Posts Laura Administrator Posted - 19/02/2007 : 21:35:11 She really does look heavenly... Love, Laura xx 3075 Posts Let's Shop Dusty! Makes me wonder how much charity work Dusty actually did. We know the RAH was for charity and I'm sure I've read of other things. I'll do a bit of searching, see if anything else springs up. Carole x 5404 Posts paula Posted - 20/02/2007 : 02:17:40 thanks for the article, Carole. Dusty looks younger than she usually does to me here..yes, 23yrs is young but she always looked a little older than she was to me..most likely because of her dress & make up. paula x USA 5012 Posts Will Wasn't born to follow Posted - 10/06/2007 : 15:06:02 What a fascinating little article! Lovely picture, too. And I thought the name of the Society she patronised was very appropriate. I wonder if that had any bearing on her choice to do so? Will dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 5/6
