In an interactive lecture format interspersed with live performance, local Sacramento professional musicians inform students about Blues music history, song structure, how to put feelings into lyrics and song, and how instruments play together to effectively communicate the Blues. Students sing along, play egg shakers, and ask questions of the band. If the school has a music program, students may get on stage to "jam".
