About the Band & Director Founded in 1989 by Craig D. Northrup, the Saratoga Community Band is made up of wind musicians and percussionists of all ages from Saratoga, Los Gatos and the greater Silicon Valley. The Saratoga Community Band welcomed Becky Dugan as our new Director for the 2014-2015 season. A trombonist and low brass specialist, Ms. Dugan performs regularly with the Mission Peak Brass Band and Messiah Brass Quintet. In addition she has provided musical leadership for churches and schools, and has taught music at the elementary, high school, and community college levels. She holds an MM from Arizona State University, as well as a Master of Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. She teaches trombone, euphonium, and tuba to beginning through advanced students in her private studio. We are proud to have her lead us forward into our next quarter-century! If you are interested in joining the band visit www.saratogaband.org or come sit in on a rehearsal with us. No audition is necessary. Rehearsals are Monday evenings September-May, 7:00-9:00 pm at Saratoga High School. Sponsored by the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education & Recreation Department, 123 E. Main St., Los Gatos. The mission of LGS Recreation is to provide fee-based public recreation programs for Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and the Los Gatos mountain communities, as well as to provide fee-based supplemental education programs and child care services for Los Gatos Union School District, Saratoga Union School District and Los Gatos-Saratoga High School District.
