The Camp is open to all New Horizons Band members as well as all adult musicians. LOCATION The Camp will return to Georgia s UNICOI State Park & Lodge. Nestled in the north Georgia mountains just outside Helen, Unicoi is one of Georgia s most beloved state parks. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking and mountain biking on scenic mountain trails, including an easy lake loop, challenging trek to Anna Ruby Falls, pretty three-mile trail to downtown Helen and rugged 7.5-mile single-track for bikers. All the information you need to make your arrangements with Unicoi is set forth in the Accommodations, Meals and Travel section below. REGISTRATION AND FEES In order to register for the Camp, you must complete the attached Registration Form and return it to Herb Greenberg as indicated below and in the Form. Room reservations must be made on or before February 15, 2016. Cancellations & Refunds There will be a $50.00 service fee for cancellations before March 1, 2016. CLASSES LIST Page 1 of 3 Concert Bands Concert Band 1 Concert Band 2 Concert Band 3 All instruments This band is for players with more limited experience. Very moderate ranges, rhythms and key signatures. Music grades are 1 & 2. All instruments Intermediate. This band is designed for musicians who enjoy playing mostly Grade 3 music with some Grade 4 mixed in. The key signatures, rhythms and ranges are more limited than Band 3. All instruments Advanced. This band is for those who enjoy a challenge. Music level is mostly Grade 5. The concert bands will meet for 90 minutes, twice a day, at 8:30AM & 7:00PM. Whenever possible, each Band will have two conductors sharing the podium. Jazz Bands Jazz Band 1 Jazz Band 2 Jazz Band 3 Entry level This band is for those with limited or entry level jazz experience. Intermediate Musical factors are more moderate in every way. Advanced Rhythms, ranges, tempo and key signatures are challenging Each Jazz Band will have 5 saxes (2 altos, 2 tenors and 1 bari); 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and a rhythm section of piano, bass guitar and drums based on availability. All of the classes will depend on having sufficient enrollment at the time of registration. Offering these classes is at the option of the camp administration.
