Anyone is allowed to audition for a principal chair. Assessment Criteria (how you are being evaluated) Tone - a clear sound that is characteristic of your instrument Intonation - demonstrating your ability to maintain a tonality Time - maintaining a steady pulse at the appropriate tempo marking Musicianship: Instrumental Range Musical Phrasing & Stylistic Expression Rhythmic Accuracy Dynamic Contrast & Accuracy Articulation Accuracy Preparation Suggestions Go online and LISTEN to the excerpts provided. Practice SLOW Use a metronome for technical passages. Aim to master the notes and rhythms first. Once notes and rhythms are there begin to demonstrate your musicianship. **This audition is part of your 2nd Marking Period Grade**
