I m Tinker Bell. Before we get started can you understand what I m saying? (pause) good cause most humans just hear bells when I talk. TINKERBELL: This is the story of Peter Pan and a girl named Wendy who believed in him. It begins in the nursery. WENDY S A DREAMER, LOVES TO TELL TALES. SHE HAS TWO BROTHERS: MICHAEL AND JOHN HERE IN THE NURSERY THEY RE WATCHED BY THEIR NANNY. A DOG! WENDY TELLS STORIES OF PETER PAN. PIRATES AND MERMAIDS, LOST BOYS AND MORE! HUNDREDS OF FABLES, MAKE BELIEVE JOURNEYS, ENDLESS ADVENTURES, ALL FILLED WITH MAGIC IN NE-VER LAND! WENDY: (telling a story to the boys, NANA watches excitedly) You re on a ship, the pirate ship of Captain Hook! We are in Never Never Land. Boys and Indians and Mermaids, and more (Wendy gestures for MICHAEL & JOHN to fight with swords)

4 JOHN: Peter Pan, I ll slash you to ribbons! MICHAEL: I ll cut you to pieces! WENDY: Peter Fly! Captain hook will catch you! MRS. DARLING: (entering) This is no time to play with the children. We re late! MR. DARLING: Wendy, what kind of stories are you putting into these boys heads?! (MR DARLING trips over NANA) WENDY: Oh no poor Nana! MR. DARLING: Poor Nana? This is the last straw! Nana - out! For good! WENDY, JOHN, MICHAEL: No! MRS. DARLING: Wendy this is your last night sleeping in this room. It s time to grow up. WENDY: I don t want to grow up! (MR. & MRS. DARLING exit, WENDY lays down to bed sadly as JOHN & MICHAEL GO TO SLEEP) (Fairies sneak in, gesturing off stage to Peter) VIDIA: Now Peter now! SILVERMIST: The parents are gone! LYRIA: The kids are asleep! VIDIA: Wendy is waiting! SILVERMIST: It s time! LYRIA: Hurry! (#5 PETER arrives pan flute track. PETER enters, TINKERBELL follows.) PETER: Tink, do you see my shadow? (TINKERBELL jingles).it s gotta be somewhere here. Hmmm. (TINKERBELL & PETER look around the room) PETER: You know, you used to be better at finding stuff like this. (TINKERBELLS jingling gets louder) WENDY: (Wakes up) Oh my gosh! it s you! I knew you were real! I knew it! PETER: Yup, here I am - I come every night to listen to your stories. TINKERBELL: I love stories about Peter

WENDY: Oh Well tomorrow I have to grow up. 5 PETER: What? I won t have it. I m taking you to Never Land. (MICHAEL wakes up) MICHAEL: John wake up! Peter Pan is here! JOHN: Wow! (can t believe his eyes) What s that? (looking at TINKERBELL) WENDY: A fairy. Peter is going to take us to Never Land! (JOHN & MICHAEL cheer. WENDY turns to PETER) WENDY: How will we get there? PETER: We ll fly of course! It s easy. All we need is a little pixie dust, Tink? TINKERBELL: Right away Pete! (TINK sprinkles dust) TRANSITITION TO SCENE 2

YOU CAN FLY/FLY TO YOUR HEART (PART 2) NOW THINK OF THE HAPPIEST THINGS. IT S THE SAME AS HAVING WINGS. 6 LET S ALL TRY IT JUST ONCE MORE. WISH I COULD RISE OFF THE FLOOR. PETER: Okay now you WENDY: It s three stories down. PETER: so? WENDY: Are you sure it will work? PETER: Of course I m sure WENDY: I m scared PETER: Believe! (Wendy jumps off and screams) MICHEAL/JOHN: Wendy! I CAN FLY! YOU CAN FLY! WE CAN FLY! (The fairies line up with a moon/clouds and two stars to the right.) SCENE 2: THE NIGHT SKY WATCH ALL THE FLOWERS, DANCE WITH THE WIND. LISTEN TO SNOWFLAKES, WHISPER YOUR NAME. FEEL ALL THE WONDER, LIFTING YOUR DREAMS. YOU CAN FLY! FLY TO WHO YOU ARE. CLIMB UPON YOUR STAR. YOU LL BELIEVE, YOU LL FIND YOUR WINGS. FLY TO YOUR HEART. TOUCH EVERY RAINBOW PAINTING THE SKY

7 LOOK AT THE MAGIC GLIDE THROUGH YOUR LIFE. A SPRINKLE OF PIXIE DUST CIRCLES THE NIGHT. YOU CAN FLY FLY TO WHO YOU ARE. SCENE 3: THE PIRATE SHIP (Pirates enter during song) 8 YO HO, A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME YO HO, YO HO, A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME. WE PILLAGE, WE PLUNDER, WE RIFLE AND LOOT. DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO! WE KIDNAP AND PILLAGE AND DON T GIVE A HOOT. DRINK UP ME HEARTIES YO HO! YO HO, YO HO, A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME. WE EXTORT, WE PILFER, WE FILCH AND SACK. DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO! MARAUD AND EMBEZZLE AND EVEN HIGH JACK DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO! WE RE RASCALS AND SCOUNDRELS AND NE ER DO WELL CADS. DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO! AYE, BUT WE RE LOVED BY OUR MOMMIES AND DADS DRINK UP ME HEARTIES, YO HO! SMEE: Good morning mates! MEAN MURPHEY: And what s good about it, Smee? We ought to be out looting ships! COCKNEY FLINT: Here we are collecting barnacles. SMEE: Pish Posh! Make the ship shine! (CAPTAIN HOOK enters) CAPTAIN HOOK: Oh, I need to find his secret lair Smee bring me my map! SMEE: Here you go captain. (handing the map) CAPTAIN HOOK: of course! We must capture Tiger Lily!

9 SMEE: the ch-ch-chief s daughter?! CAPTAIN HOOK: That s right. (#11 CROCODILE ENTRANCE) SMEE: Why what s that? CAPTAIN HOOK: (genuinely afraid) Oh no. The brute is here. The crocodile - Save me!!!! (the CROCODILE swims by.hook trembles) CAPTAIN HOOK: Not that one. Listen up (CROCODILE swims downstage during song - All Pirates sing)

NEVER SMILE AT A CROCODILE 10 NEVER SMILE AT A CROCODILE. NO YOU CAN T GET FRIENDLY WITH A CROCODILE. DON T BE TAKEN IN BY IT S WELCOME GRIN. HE S IMAGINING HOW WELL YOU D FIT WITHIN HIS SKIN. NEVER SMILE AT A CROCODILE. NEVER TIP YOUR HAT AND STOP TO TALK AWHILE. NEVER WALK, RUN AWAY. SAY GOOD NIGHT NOT GOOD DAY. CLEAR THE AISLE AND NEVER SMILE AT MISTER CROCODILE. CAPTAIN HOOK: And, Mr. Smee, you know the deepest fear that gnaws at me> SMEE: What fear is that Cap n? CAPTAIN HOOK: Someday that clock will run down and the beast will sneak up on me and crunch and gnash and pulverize..until there s nothing left! NEVER SMILE AT A CROCODILE. OR YOU MIGHT GET EATEN BY THE CROCODILE. YES, IT S TRUE, TAKE A LOOK. NOW MY HAND IS A HOOK! CLEAR THE AISLE AND NEVER SMILE AT MISTER CROCODILE! BE GONE! (a PIRATE blows a whistle. The CROCODILE exits and PIRATES follow) (#14 Forest transition)

SCENE 4: THE FOREST 11 (LOST BOYS play in a circle on edge of the stage. Peter, and the CHILDREN enter) PETER: Lost boys, gather round! Meet Wendy, John and Michael. JOHN: So you re the lost boys? MICHAEL: How d you get lost? HOP: When babies fall out of cribs, they come to Neverland JOHN: Why are there no lost girls? CUBBY: Girls are too clever to fall out of their crib MICHAEL: And why are you dressed like that? FOX: Camouflage - Against the Indians! HOP: Let s get em (all follow HOP as he looks for Indians) FOX: We re close to the Indians, shhh! (The LOST BOYS follow Indian tracks and exit, The INDIANS enter) INDIANS: We re following the Lost boys (the BOYS re-enter and circle the INDIANS) BRAVE PINE: I see them! BRAVE OAK: I don t see them BRAVE PINE: You mean those animals? BRAVE OAK: Those aren t animals! Those are boys in camouflage! BRAVE PINE, BRAVE OAK: Oh. (The INDIANS run in and capture the BOYS) (CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO steps forward) CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: Greeting people across the ocean! FOX: Greetings! CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: For many moons, we fight you lost boys! HOP: True! CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: Sometimes you win. Sometimes we win. CUBBY: OK, you win this time. Turn us loose.

12 JOHN: You mean, it s only a game? CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: yes but where have you hidden Tiger Lily? FOX: We don t have her. CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: Yes you do! CUBBY: Honest we don t CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: If Tiger Lily is not back by sunset, Lost boys get burned at the stake. PETER: Well, we better go find her! (Indians, lost boys exit. PETER and kids fly around stage. JOHN: Look mermaids! (All exit. #17 TRANSITION TO MERMAIDS)

13 SCENE 5: THE MERMAID LAGOON SUNBEAMS AND SEA SUNBEAMS AND SEA. YOU CAN HAVE MERMAIDS LOVELY TRESSES YOU CAN HAVE SCALES INSTEAD OF SKIN. NO NEED TO STAND, THE SEA FEELS GRAND! SLIPPERY SMOOTH FROM HEAD TO FIN COME JOIN, COME JOIN, COME JOIN US! COME AND SWIM THE NEVER-ENDING TIDE. YOU CAN T KNOW HOW IT FEELS, WHAT THE SEA REVEALS, WHEN YOU RE DRY UPON THE OTHER SIDE CORAL AND SEAWEED STEAD OF DRESSES. SHIMMERY LIGHT AS FISH FLY BY AIR CAN FEEL THIN TILL GILLS GROW IN THEN IT S WHOOSH AND THE LAND GOODBYE (The MERMAIDS are about to pull WENDY under the water) PETER: Wait, Wendy no! WENDY: Why not? ANDRINA: (to PETER) Let us have her for a week.below the waves! ARISTA: She can tell us stories about you Peter. ATINA: (to WENDY) What s it like to fly with him? PETER: They ll pull you down and keep you there. ANDRINA: Oh Peter If we drowned her, we d apologize ARISTA: Truly we would. TINKERBELL: So polite but I am thinking she might not make it

14 ATINA: Fine then. Tell us a story then. PETER: Wait, Wendy! (points) Tiger Lily! WENDY: She s a prisoner TINKERBELL: We ve got to save her! PETER: I knew Hook was up to no good! Let s go! MERMAIDS: Goodbye, Peter! (Mermaids exit) WENDY: I have an idea! Come here (WENDY pulls PETER offstage whispering) (CAPTAIN HOOK and SEEE enter in a small boat with tied up TIGER LILY. CAPTAIN HOOK: Oh would that I could set you free. Tell me where that scurvy Pan lives or die! SMEE: Come on Tiger Lily. (PETER enters with a fish pole down stage. The crocodile snaps at the pole. TICK TOCK track plays.) (CAPTAIN HOOk grabs Smee in terror) CAPTAIN HOOK: ahh!!! The Croc smee! Save me! (Smee and CAPTAIN HOOK rows off stage in terror forgetting TIGER LILY. The CROCODILE follows) PETER: Sweet victory! Let s go! TIGER LILY: Thank you, Brave Girl from far away and Peter. WENDY: Your welcome. TIGER LILY: Come back to our camp and celebrate! (#20 Transistion to Indian camp)

15 SCENE 6: The INDIAN CAMP (The INDIANS enter to drums, LOST BOYS, PETER, WENDY, MICHAEL, JOHN sit around the camp fire) CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: Greetings flying boy from across the ocean! PETER: Greetings! CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: Are you the one who saved the Princess? PETER: Yup it was me! WENDY: Peter. Your so conceited. PETER: Yes I am the very best at NOT being conceited. TINKERBELL: That s saying a lot JOHN: Chief can you teach us some Indian words? CHIEF TIGER BAMBOO: I don t know any but if we are being brave we sometimes like to say Hana Mana Ganda.

Greetings! LOST BOYS: Greetings, Chief! JOHN, MICHAEL: Greetings! PETER: Big child greets little mother. greetings! WENDY: ugg! PETER: Oh Wendy is that all you have to say? (FAIRIES sneak in and start untying PETER) SMEE: It s time to walk the plank! CAPTAIN HOOK: Let s have a count - 10 seconds and ye walk the plank! PIRATES: 10, 9, 8 WENDY: 7, 6, 5 CAPTAIN HOOK: 4, 3, 2 FAIRIES: 1! (PETER is untied. grabs his sword and runs at HOOK) WENDY, BOYS: Yeah Peter! CAPTAIN HOOK: What is this? (HOOK pulls out his sword and PETER and HOOK duel) (#31 PETER vs. HOOK) (PETER & HOOK sword fight) CAPTAIN HOOK: You can fly, coward! PETER: Nobody calls Pan a coward and live! I ll fight you one hand behind my back! WENDY: Peter, it s a trick! CAPTAIN HOOK: Insolent youth! Prepare to die! (Hook and PETER fight. At first HOOK seems to have the advantage but PETER twirls around and gets the upper hand making Hook stumble. PETER grabs HOOKS sword and holds the advantage - Pirates run offstage) PETER: I win! LOST BOYS: Hooray! (PETER steps forward and HOOK jumps overboard #32 Hook overboard) CAPTAIN HOOK: Smee, help! (SMEE runs and jumps over board willingly) SMEE: I m coming captain! (#33 SMEE overboard)

20 (The TICKING crocodile is seen downstage. Hook Screams and the croc chases him offstage. LOST BOYS cheer) ALL: Hooray for Captain Pan! PETER: No. Hooray for Captain Wendy! WENDY: Well then, take its straight past the second star to the right. Tinkerbell can you make the ship fly and take us home (BELL JINGLES OFFSTAGE) #34 BACK TO THE NURSERY SCENE 10: THE DARLING NURSERY (MR. & MRS. DARLING AND NANA ENTER) MR. DARLING: OH Nana. (NANA BARKS) What is it? (WENDY, JOHN, MICHAEL climb in one by one.) MR. DARLING: WENDY! MRS. DARLING: JOHN! NANA: ARF! WENDY, MICHAEL, JOHN: Hello! MICHAEL: I ve been here before. JOHN: Michael, we re home! (The family embraces) MR. DARLING: Where have you been? WENDY: Peter dropped us off. MRS. DARLING: You re covered in dirt! JOHN: From the pirate ship! MR. DARLING: What! you ve been gone all night! MRS. DARLING: Just be happy they are home. Wendy you can stay in this room and tell stories as long as you wish. WENDY: (suddenly serious) No mom. The Lost boys weren t ready to grow up but I am. Oh mom, dad it was amazing, there were mermaids, and Indians and fairies, and we were kidnapped and Pan saved us.
