Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews Review of Contemporary Entrepreneurship, Business and Economic Issues Journal of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS Description of the journal Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews Review of Contemporary Entrepreneurship, Business, and Economic Issues is intended for researchers and practitioners, and devoted to the publication of papers that contribute to the theoretical, methodological and empirical insights in the complex field of economics. Articles can be based on quantitative as well as qualitative analyses; they can be a synthesis of previous research and discuss open issues in specific areas of social and economic practice. The journal welcomes papers focused on different levels of analysis (from individual cases to small or large samples) and contexts (SMEs and large companies, industrial sectors, local, regional and national economies, international economics, branches of economy, healthcare and education, labour and demographics, natural resources and other socio-economic frameworks). The journal is focused on research in economics, business economics and entrepreneurship, however, as these are closely intertwined with other disciplines information and technical sciences, law, sociology, psychology and other fields multidisciplinary submissions are also welcome. Copyright Upon acceptance of an article for publication in Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews Review of Contemporary Entrepreneurship, Business, and Economic Issues, authors will be asked to complete a copyright agreement. Contributing authors automatically waive their copyright in favour of the journal. The journal reserves copyright of all papers published in it. The authors will receive a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Ethical policy The ethics statements for Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews - Review of Contemporary Entrepreneurship, Business and Economic Issues are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. Submission of a manuscript implies that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities tacitly or explicitly at the institution where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
Types of papers The journal publishes reviewed papers (scholarly articles), research reports, scholarly debates and reviews. Individual issues can be dedicated to more specific topics. Within the peer review process, papers published in the journal are categorized in one of the following categories: original scientific papers, preliminary communications, review papers and professional papers. Papers must be in English. Professional papers, presentations and other contributions can be published in Croatian. Based on a review, the Editorial Board accepts the paper, requests minor or significant revisions to be made, or rejects the paper. If major changes are needed, the paper will be reviewed again. The final decision on the categorization is made by the Editorial Board. Review process The Editorial Board preliminarily reviews each paper and decides if it is suitable for publication in Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews - Review of Contemporary Entrepreneurship, Business and Economic Issues. In that case, the paper will undergo a double blind review process, i.e. it is sent to at least two independent anonymous reviewers. Based upon the reviewer's recommendations, the Editorial Board decides whether the paper will be accepted as is, revised or rejected. Econviews strives to uphold the highest standards for published manuscripts and we expect our authors to do the same. If you are not a native English speaker, it is required that your paper be professionally edited (preferably by a native speaker) prior to submission. This will help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. In addition, you will need to submit a separate file with the following information about the translator or language editor: NAME, NAME AND ADDRESS OF INSTITUTION OR COMPANY AFFILIATION, EMAIL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. Please note that submissions without the above requested information will not be considered for publication. Article structure There are no strict requirements but all manuscripts must contain the essential elements of the manuscripts, for example: Title; Abstract; Keywords; Main part of the paper: Introduction, Review of previous research (Theoretical framework), Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References, Attachments (if any). Such article structure is recommended for scholarly articles in the category of original scientific papers, preliminary communications and review papers. Title: It must be concise and informative, and match the content of the paper. Abstract: It should be clearly separated from the title and the main part of the paper. It should define the background, objectives, method(s) and present the main results and conclusions of the paper in a clear and concise manner. The abstract should be 100 to 250 words in length. Keywords: A maximum of six keywords is provided. Introduction: The introduction should state the objectives of the paper, describe the nature of the problem and current state of knowledge. It should give the scope and general methods of research, and present a hypothesis and/or research goals. The introduction may be followed by the chapter Review of previous research (Theoretical framework): In this part, the authors can elaborate on previous research or demonstrate how the theory developed. Methodology: The paper built on an appropriate base of theory, concepts, or other ideas needs to have clear methodology and be relevant to the topic. The research or equivalent intellectual work on which the paper is based should be well designed and clearly presented. Method(s) already published should be indicated by a reference. Results: The results should be analysed appropriately and presented clearly and concisely. Discussion: The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the study. Conclusion: The conclusion should be based on research questions and/or should indicate the results and the scientific contribution made by the paper. Guidelines for further research should be proposed. Also, limitations of the study should be noted. Formatting requirements Papers must be formatted so as to allow printing on paper size 210 X 297 mm. Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12 (unless otherwise stated herein) should be used, and line spacing should be 1.5. The margins (left, right, top and bottom) should be 25mm wide. The text should be aligned with both the right and left margins (justified). The paper should have between 4500 and 6500 words (including references).
The title of the paper should be written in uppercase bold letters. All other headings and subheadings should be written in lowercase bold letters and numbered as shown below: 1. Heading 1.1 Subheading 2. Heading 2.1 Subheading etc. Tables, figures, graphs, and other illustrations must be titled (above) and the source must be stated below such parts of the paper using the required font, size 10 and single spacing. The title must state the type and indicate the number, starting from 1 (Table 1, Figure 1, Graph 1, etc.). Tables and graphs cannot be photographs. For papers originally written in languages other than English, authors need to follow the rules for writing numbers in English. References At the end of the paper, a reference list should be numbered and alphabetized by the last name of the first author of each source. Notes are listed after references. In the text, notes should be numbered with Arabic numerals using the required font, size 10. Use Harvard style for references (https://education.exeter.ac.uk/dll/studyskills/harvard_referencing.htm). Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list and vice versa. Also, it should be ensured that data provided in the references are correct. Reference style All citation in the text should refer to: 1. Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity), year of publication 2. Two authors: both authors' names, year of publication 3. Three or more authors: first author's name followed by 'et al.', year of publication. Citation may be made directly or in parenthesis. Groups of references should be listed alphabetically, then chronologically. More than one reference from the same author in the same year should be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., after the year of publication. Books Surname, Initials. (year). Title of book.
