B U D D Y T H O M A FINALIT HBO NEW WRITER WORKHOP THEATRE FETIVAL Coffee Guy Productions proudly presents Buddy Thomas one-act play, potlight at the 015 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. From the author of the hit plays Devil Boys From Beyond and The Crumple Zone comes this hilarious one-act about college theatre majors waiting for the cast list for West ide tory to be posted and the aftermath. A finalist in HBO s New Writer s Workshop and a econd Place winner at American College Festival, potlight is a fast-paced comedy about the desperate drive to succeed and delusions that get in the way. potlight will be performing at the University of Winnipeg Asper Centre for Theatre and Film (venue #1) and runs from July 16 July 5 015. Tickets are $8. Coffee Guy Productions is a film and theatre company based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba and founded by Glenn Odero. The company produces a variety of entertainmet ranging from plays to sketch comedy and short films. potlight is produced and directed by local actor Glenn Odero. Cast and Crew Kaitlyn Kriss (as Gail Kearson) Kaitlyn is happy to be taking a turn in the spotlight after years of working as a freelance sm. elect past fringe shows include Etoile, Barkers Battle, ELLAmentary. he has also been involved with community productions such as Jesus Christ uperstar at the t. Mary s road united church. he hopes you enjoy the show and wishes a big happy Fringemas! Vanessa Mancini (as Karen Hedges) Vanessa has appeared in various short films and two web series by the local collective Bifrost Films - The Avenue, which she also co-wrote, and Wasted. Also, hold the phone, she was The Cowardly Lion in her Grade 11 production of The Wizard of Oz. he received her BA in Theatre and Film from the University of Winnipeg in 008, so this performance is totally legit. Thanks to acting coach Brad for getting me back in the game. Love to Mom, Dad, Andrea, Ryan (and puppy hug to Charlie), and Dylann. Boris Jovanovic (as Brian) Boris is very excited to make his Festival debut at this year s Winnipeg Fringe Festival. He has appeared in various short films over the past year. elect short film projects include, The Lottery Ticket, The Perfect Part, Who s Baby. Earlier this year, Boris also performed in Downside Up Productions theatre project, Borderline upport Group. A big and sincere thank you to everyone, who has helped me and supported me in my journey and discovery in the wacky art of acting. Happy Fringe everyone! Drew Jensen (as Mickey) Drew is very excited to be participating in his second fringe show, as he much enjoyed his first experience last year! Drew has always had a passion for performing and acting, which stems back to early school years. Drew first found his acting passion late in high school, with roles such as crooge from A Christmas Carol and Randle McMurphy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest. He didn t stop there, as he is now pursuing an honours degree for theatre at the University of Winnipeg. ome of Drew s most recent work include a Payworks Canada Commercial, as Payworks Pete, as well as a principal role in a short film Outdigenous. Drew looks forward to a successful fringe run, and hopes to bring many smiles and much laughter to the Asper Theatre Center. Glenn Odero (director) Glenn Odero is very happy to be back and part of the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Earlier this year, he performed in the Tara Player s Club theatrical production of Noel Coward s Fallen Angels as part of RMTC s Master Playwright Festival. Glenn can be seen in various local television commercials and can also be seen as a recurring character on CityTV s sketch comedy show, unnyside, airing undays this fall on CityTV. A big thank you to friends, family and all Fringe participants. Have a great festival!
