3 Poodll is a third party plugin for Moodle that includes audio and video recording, and whiteboards that can be used by the instructor for content creation, or by the students when submitting assignments or forum posts. Using Audio and Video Recorders for Activity Feedback This function is available for both Discussion Forums and Journals in Moodle by following the instructions below. Audio Recorder Using the Audio Recorder for discussion forum feedback feedback for and select Reply 1. Select the discussion post that you would like to provide 2. Expand the toolbar for the message box by selecting the first option 3. On the second row of tool options, select the microphone
4 4. The Create Media File pop up window will appear *Note: look for a pop up window in the left or right corner that asks you to allow or block use of your microphone. You must select Allow. 5. To record audio, select Record 6. Once you begin recording, the timer will also begin. If you need to pause while recording, you can select pause and resume recording when ready. When you are finished recording, select Stop.
5 7. Before inserting the audio file into the forum, you can select play to listen to the recording prior to selecting insert. When you are ready to insert the recording, select upload first, and then insert. 11 Using Audio and Video Recorders for Assignment Feedback This function is available for assignments that are submitted in Moodle by following the instructions below. Using the Audio Recorder for assignment feedback 1. You may choose to include this feature to a new assignment or one that is already built. a. Adding to an existing assignment select the assignment you want to add it to. Click the gear in the right corner and select Editing Settings. b. Skip step A if you are creating a new assignment. In the assignment settings, scroll down and select Feedback Types. 2. In the feedback types section, check the Feedback PoodLL option and select the PoodLL Recorder Type that you would like to use.
