Username Password Ready, Set, Read! 2016 Adult Summer Reading Club Program Thank you for registering for the Adult Summer Reading Club at Southwest Public Libraries. Rules, Reviews, and Milestones Exercise your mind by reading or listening to books. When you finish, submit a short review either online or in the library. The more books you read, the more prize opportunities you earn! Each review submitted counts for one weekly raffle entry AND one grand prize raffle entry. When you have submitted 5 reviews, stop at the Information Desk to claim your Milestone prize! Review sheets are available online and in the library. You can submit up to 7 reviews online each week. If you are submitting written reviews, turn them in at the Information Desk or the Youth Services Desk. Please include the username you created when you signed up and your contact information on every review sheet to ensure your raffle entries are counted. Please only review books you have read between June 4, 2016 and July 30, 2016. If you choose to submit reviews online, follow the link from the library homepage or go to the address http://swplsr.evanced.info/. Choose the Adults 2016 tab with the Exercise Your Mind Read! banner. Then, log in with your username and password. Once you are logged in, choose View Log to submit a review. Only book title and a rating are required to receive your raffle entry however, a more detailed review is always encouraged! Make sure you click Save when you re finished. No personal information will be displayed in association with your reviews. Weekly Prizes Participants will have the chance to win one of five $15 gift cards every week. Every review you submit equals one raffle entry for that week s prize AND one entry for the grand prize. We ll contact prize winners each week by the method indicated at registration. 1

D Day: The Beginning of the End Thursday, June 9 7:00 pm at Grove City Code named Operation Overlord, the Battle of Normandy began on June 6, 1944 when more than 150, 000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on the Norman beaches of France. This marked the beginning of the Allied Invasion of Western Europe and lead to the liberation of northern France. Please join MSgt Stephen Walter USMCR (Ret) for a viewing of The World at War and a discussion of this crucial battle. Exercise Your Mind with Quizzes and Trivia Ongoing starting June 13 at Grove City Stop at the Information Desk for a themed quiz or activity and a chance to win a small prize. Every week we will have a new challenge and a new prize to help you exercise your mind. Researching your answers is encouraged! Family Yoga with the YMCA Saturday, June 18 1:00 pm and Saturday, July 16 1:00 pm at Grove City Join an instructor from the YMCA for a session of family yoga. Yoga focuses on the health of the body and the mind while providing stress relief and muscle strength. This session is open to all ages and will take place outside, weather permitting. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it. 2

DIY Spa Day: Homemade Sugar Scrub Tuesday, June 21 7:00 pm at Grove City It s easy to make your own spa products at home! Join Adult Services staff who will guide you through making sugar scrub using simple ingredients. Participants will receive copies of the recipes used and get to keep their creations. Please register for this program by Friday, June 17th by calling 614 875 6716 ext 503 or by stopping at the Grove City Information Desk. Zumba Fitness Saturday, July 9 4:00 pm at Grove City Join Amy and Tracey from Victory Fitness Center for an energizing Zumba dance class! Zumba is a fun workout that combines cardio, balance, muscle conditioning, and flexibility to give you an invigorating total body workout. Zumba is encouraged for all ages and fitness levels. This class will be held outside, weather permitting. Mango Languages! Tuesday, July 19 7:00 pm at Grove City Mango Languages is a resource offered through the library! Use Mango to learn conversation skills at your own pace in over 70 languages. Join Adult Services staff for an interactive presentation on the features of Mango and instruction on how to get started on your device. All participants will receive a piece of Mango Languages gear! Programs and Events: Westland Area Library Exercise your mind and body with these programs at Westland. Unless noted, no registration is required. Walk This Way Challenge Ongoing in June and July during open hours Challenge yourself to walk the number of steps equivalent to the distance from Westland Library to Ohio State University s Thompson Library, which is 8.9 miles. Use a pedometer or mobile app to keep track of how many steps you take each day. How long will it take you to walk the 8.9 miles? If you need help getting started, ask one of our Reference Staff. Complete the challenge for your chance to win our grand prize at the end of the summer! Highlight a Helper Mondays, June 6th, 20th, 27th and July 11th, 18th, 25th 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Westland The library has wonderful resources available to anyone with a library card at no charge. Learn 3

about Hoopla, OverDrive, Mango Languages, Learning Express and more. Each week will highlight a new resource but please ask about any of them at the Reference Desk at any time. A mix of pop culture, science, history and everything in between, all hosted by your friendly neighborhood Squirrel and his unique "Name 10" style of trivia. Named one of Columbus' top trivia shows 5 years running. Zumba Fitness Saturday, June 25th 1:30 pm at Westland Take the work out of work outs! Instructors from Victory Fitness will teach us to Shake N Shimmy with a free Zumba class. This session will be geared towards beginners so no one gets left out. Learn a fun and exciting way to exercise and start a new healthy habit! Retro Video Game Night Wednesdays June 22nd, July 27th, August 10th 6:30 pm at Westland Step back in time at the Westland Area Library to play some classic retro video games and talk with others about everything Atari, Nintendo, Sega, and more! Children are welcome with parental supervision. A Diverse Westland Islam 101 Saturday, July 30th 2:00 pm at Westland Westland Area Library serves many different members of the community. Exercise your mind and learn more about our neighbors. The Noor Islamic Cultural Center will be here to talk about the beliefs, culture, and history of Islam. Through knowledge and understanding we can make a stronger community. 4
