Swortzel recognized new committee members, outlined some of the revisions to the 2015-2016 Guide and Format and announced he will be speaking to some of the college curriculum committees about curriculum issues. Carr moved to approve the April 30, 2015 minutes. Crumpton seconded the motion. The April 30, 2015 minutes were approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the addition of AAS 3193 African Cultures and AN 3193 African Cultures. Cox seconded the motion. The motion to approve AAS 3193 and AN 3193 was approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the modification of the Bachelor of Arts in English. Yu seconded the motion. The motion to approve the modification of the BA in English was approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the modification of the Masters of Agribusiness Management. Yu seconded the motion. The motion to approve the modification to the MABM was approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the modification to the Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences/Engineering Technology. Crumpton seconded the motion. The committee discussed the proposal would modify the number of degree program hours from 80 hours to 68 hours past the Bachelor

degree including 20 hours of research. The motion to approve the modification to the Ph.D. in Agricultural Science/Engineering Technology was approved unanimously. Moser moved to approve the addition of MU 2681 Opera Workshop and MU 3433 Piano Literature. Crumpton seconded the motion. Dr. Rose Sebba appeared in support of the proposals. For MU 3433 Piano Literature, committee members felt the attendance policy needs to be clarified, the value of the research papers needs to be clarified on the syllabus, and the wording for Listening grading on the syllabus needs to be in compliance with the appropriate University AOP. Rigsby moved to pass the addition of MU 3433 Piano Literature contingent upon the above concerns being addressed. Carr seconded the motion. The motion to pass the addition of MU 3433 Piano Literature contingent was approved unanimously. The committee then approved the addition of MU 2681 Opera Workshop unanimously. Moser moved to approve the addition of PE 4533/6533 Developing Coaching Expertise. Stewart seconded the motion. A committee members pointed out a class already exists with this course title and is PE 8103, so this proposal should have been a modification of PE 8103 instead of the addition of a new course. Carr moved to table the proposal based upon the above concern. Otondo seconded the motion. The motion to table the addition of PE 4533/6533 Developing Coaching Expertise was approved unanimously. Ye moved to approve the deletion of TKB 1123 Document Formatting/Information Processing, TKB 1312 Information Resource Management, and TKT 4153/6153 Method of Teaching Economics/Business Pathways; the modification of TKB 2123 Database Management, TKB 2133 Spreadsheet Design and Analysis, TKB 4543/6543 Information Processing, TKT 4213 Methods of Teaching Business Subjects, TKT 4463 Methods of Teaching Business Technology, and TKT 4753/6753 Media for Presentations, Instruction and Gaming; and the addition and distance approval for TKT 4203 Emerging Technologies. Moser seconded the motion. In TKB 4543/6543 Information Processing committee members were concerned there were not enough contact hours since the lab is being removed from the course. Committee members also noticed there is not a Title IX Statement in the syllabus for TKT 4463 Methods of Teaching Business Technology. Carr moved to pass TKB 4543/6543 and TKT 4463 contingent upon the above concerns being addressed. Cox seconded the motion. The motion to pass TKB 4543/6543 and TKT 4463 contingent was approved unanimously. The motion to approve the deletions of TKB 1123, TKB 1312, TKB 4153/6153; the modifications of TKB 2123, TKB 2133, TKT 4213, TKT 4753/6753; and the addition and distance approval for TKT 4203 was approved unanimously. Ye moved to approve the modification of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Services. Carr seconded the motion. Cox moved to pass the program modification contingent upon the two courses (TKB 4543/6543 and TKT 4463) being cleared of their contingencies since the courses affect the program modification. Stewart seconded the motion. The motion to pass the modification of the BS in Information Technology Services contingent upon the above concern being addressed was approved unanimously.

Perkins moved to approve the addition of distance to ECE 6613 and ME 8011. Ambinakudige seconded the motion. A committee member pointed out that the courses will not be taught in Meridian and that campus designation needs to come off of the proposals. For ME 8011, committee member discussed the grade mode change and if class participation and attendance need to be split under the grading scale. The motion to approve the addition of distance to ECE 6613 and ME 8011 was approved unanimously. Perkins moved to approve the addition of ME 3163 Introduction to Design and Finite Element Analysis. Ambinakudige second the motion. Committee members pointed out the name of the course is inconsistent within the course proposal. Crumpton moved to pass the proposal contingent upon the above concern being addressed. Moser seconded the motion. The motion to pass ME 3163 contingent was approved unanimously. Stewart moved to approve the modification of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Carr seconded the motion. Committee members pointed out the course name of ME 3163 is incorrect on the program proposal cover sheet, and the program proposal cannot move forward until ME 3163 is cleared of its contingency. Crumpton moved to pass the modification of the BS in Mechanical Engineering contingent upon the above concerns being addressed. Moser seconded the motion. The motion to pass the modification of the BA in Mechanical Engineering was approved unanimously. Perkins moved to approve the modification of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, the modification of the Masters in Engineering/Computer Science, and the addition of a minor in Industrial Engineering. Crumpton seconded the motion. Dr. Leslie Strawderman appeared in support of the Industrial Engineering proposals. For the Masters in Engineering/Computer Science proposal, committee members reviewed the reason for the reduction in required credit hours. The motion to approve the modification of the BS in Industrial Engineering, the modification of the Masters in Engineering/Computer Science, and the addition of a minor in Industrial Engineering was approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the modification of CVM 5021. Crumpton seconded the motion. The committee members noted there was a grade mode change for this course. The motion to approve the modification of CVM 5021 was approved unanimously. Carr moved to approve the name change to the Master of Science in Forest Products. Crumpton seconded the motion. The motion to approve the name change was approved unanimously. Moser moved to adjourn. Kirkland seconded the motion. The motion to adjourn was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
