Basic Education Department Holy Angel University Angeles City SY 2016-2017 MUSIC, ARTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH 9 COURSE DESCRIPTION The course focuses on the four main parts such as Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health. The knowledge, understanding, skills and values derived from these areas are important for preparing the students to interact and prosper in an increasingly complex and diverse society. Music- discusses and presents concepts and elements of music to be able to enrich one s understanding of the musical concepts like singing, listening, playing and creating. Topics include music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and Classical Period. Art- discusses concepts about the elements of art. Students will be given freedom of self expression as well as the opportunity to develop their creative potentials. Topics include Pre-Historic art, Egyptian Art, Greek Art, Roman Art, Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic. Physical Education- deals with the various physical activities which facilitate the development of the potentials and skills of the students. Topics include Cotillion and Cha-cha dances, Badminton, Table Tennis and Volleyball games. Health- discusses the importance of maintaining good health. Students will learn healthy tips necessary for a successful, happy and meaningful life. Topic includes changes in the body of teenagers, population education, reproductive system, first aid and consumer health. At the end of the school year, with the use of collaborative approach and interactive learning activities, the course expects the students develop their well being and become healthy, active and productive citizens of the country.
