8 Hookups with a Cable Box/irect Broadcast ystem There are two ways to connect your Cable Box/B to the C. With this connection: You may view any channel. You must select channels at the Cable Box/B. Channels cannot be changed at the C. You may not view a channel other than the one you are recording. You may not set up channels at the C. You can only program a timer recording for one channel at a time if you are not using the Controller. et the T and the C to the Cable Box/B output channel (channel 03 or 04); set the CH3/CH4 switch to the same channel. et your Cable Box/B to the channel you want to record. When you enter the channel you want to record in a timer recording, select channel 03 or 04 (the Cable Box/B output channel). 48 erecording (Tape uplication) The instructions on this page show you how to copy tapes. ifferent Cs may operate differently. To duplicate a tape, make the connections shown, then follow steps 1-6. (You may use the and n jacks on the front of C 2 instead if you prefer.) C 1 Playing C C 2 ecording C 3) Use an F coaxial cable to connect the F Jack on C 2 to the T s ANTNNA Jack. ANT. F ANT. Make sure the C power is on and the C is in C position. (The C light will appear on the display panel. f it does not, press the C/T button once.) 3Turn on the T; set it to channel 3 or 4, whichever channel the CH3/CH4 switch on C 2 is set to. 4Point the remote control at C 2. Press the C button, then press the Number buttons 0, 0. Press the CH(annel) 8/9 button so that A/ FNT or A/ A appears on the screen. 5Point the remote control at C 2. Press the AT/P button to select P or P. 6Press the PAY button on C 1 and the C(ord)/T button on C 2 at the same time. The \ light will appear on the C 2 display panel. Helpful Hints Unauthorized recording of copyrighted television programs, video tapes, or other materials may infringe on the rights of copyright owners and violate copyright laws. f a program has copyright protection, it may not record clearly. Audio and video cables are not included. To stop copying tapes, press the TP/JCT button on C 2, then press the TP/JCT button on C 1. f you connect the audio and video cables to the / n jacks on the front of C 2, you must select A/ FNT at step 4. f you connect the audio and video or -ideo cables to the / or /- jacks on the back of C 2, you must select A/ A at step 4. Then select or - at A A/ PUT in the C et Up menu.

The Controller will automatically select channels at the Cable Box/B during a timer recording. eave your Cable Box/B turned on during a timer recording. 1Connect the Cable Box/B to the C as shown below. For more information, please read page 8. r, refer to the owner s manual of your Cable Box/B. Cable Box/B Controller Connect the Controller to the Jack on the back of the C. Connect the Cable signal to the Jack of the Cable Box/B. Use an F coaxial cable to connect the Jack on the Cable Box/B to the ANT(enna) Jack on the back of the C. CH3 CH4 ANT. F ANT. F Back of T (example) 75 Use a second F coaxial cable to connect the F Jack on the C to the T's ANTNNA Jack. 2Connect the Controller to the Jack on the back of the C as shown above. 3Attach the Controller to the top of the C using the supplied adhesive. To receive and record a program broadcast in stereo, make one of the connections shown, then follow steps 1-6. ANT. f you have a tereo and a Monitor T, use a video cable to connect the C s Jack to the T s Jack. Use audio cables to connect the C s Jacks to the tereo s Jacks. F, if you have a single-speaker T, use an F coaxial cable to connect the C s F Jack to the T s ANTNNA Jack. 1Press the C button, then press the MNU button.
