Administrative History The Central Piedmont Community College Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit charitable organization established in 1965 to generate private financial support to further the mission of Central Piedmont Community College. Together with the Charlotte community, the Foundation has helped support student activities and scholarships, work-study funds and loan programs, campus-wide development, and institutional activities in and for the people involved with the College. Some of the former and current board members include Thomas M. Belk, J. Norman Pease, Sr., E.A. Terrell, Jr., Dr. Richard Hagemeyer, R. Powell Majors, James B. Sommers, Ralph Pitts, William M. Scope and Contents The CPCC Foundation Collection comprises mainly of photographs from various Foundation related events such as campus openings and employee appreciation ceremonies. Also included in this collection are printed materials documenting the history of the Foundation and its board members, books, audio/visual materials and textile artifacts. There are also 4 digital images housed on the archive database that will be included within the scope of the future CPCC Archive Digitization project.
