Call upon the judges to be seated after tea Names & Designation 2012 3 rd International Young Film Makers Festival (IYFMF) 2012 is an initiative by Expressions India - The National Life Skills Education & School Wellness Program. The theme of this unique event is Innovative Life Skills for Social Change, wherein school students from various parts of the country and abroad are utilizing the audio-visual technology to convey meaningful social messages through short films & documentaries. The objective of this festival is to encourage young thinking and creative minds to use cinema as a medium of expression and come up with short educational films portraying major issues of national concern, thereby enhancing the application of Life Skills Education in Schools. The themes for the films include socially relevant issues and concerns such as HIV/AIDS awareness, Child Rights, Child Labour, Coping With Stress and Challenge of Adolescence Education, to name a few. Around 80 films were made by various schools, across the country, participated in the previous two festivals.
IYFMF 2012 includes various other enriching events for the school students, like interactive workshops on script writing, technical aspects of short film making and a bio graphical discussion on the life and creativity of a noted film maker Shri Hrishikesh Mukherji etc. The event is on 30 th and 31 st of October 2012 at the National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. Dr. Sadhana Parashar, Director (Training), CBSE would be the honourable Chief Guest. This time also, around 45 schools all over the country are participating. It is the third of its kind educational film festival linking the creative expressions of young minds with meaningful media. 2014 As part of the crusade for empowering school going adolescents, Expressions India The National Life Skills, Values Education & School Wellness Program, in collaboration with Macmillan Education organized the 4 th International Young Film Makers Festival (IYFMF). It is a sequel to the grand success of the festival organized in the last three years and saw an enthusiastic participation of a large number of schools from all over the country. Upholding the suggestions and opinions from the adolescent Peer Educators who have been a part of the regular Life Skills training courses, the theme of event is Innovative Life Skills & Values for Social Change. The festival focused on the issues, concerns and empowerment of children and their rights. The Objective of this festival was to encourage young creative minds in schools to come up and utilize the audiovisual technology; short films to convey meaningful social messages to the civil society, programmers & policy makers, portraying major issues of national concern, thereby enhancing the application of Life Skills & Values Education in schools. IYFMF 2014 included various other enriching events for the school students, like Orientation to Short Film Making, Editing & Script Writing, technical aspects of short film making and a bio graphical discussion on the life and creativity of a noted film maker, open house quiz on 100 years of Indian Cinema etc. The event held on 20 th and 21 st of January 2014 at the National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. More than 40 schools, all over the country participated in this festival. It is the fourth of its kind educational film festival linking the creative expressions of young minds with meaningful media.
