1. Create an online account http://www.myendnoteweb.com Register with an email address and password; if new>create an Account 2. Create custom groups Organize>Manage My Groups>New Group Enter a New Group name eg Training1>OK 3. Create a new reference 3.1 Manual entry: Collect>New Reference>Reference Type eg Book Page 3

4. Attach full text: 4.1 Articles Download and save full text as a pdf Return to EndNoteWeb Click on the symbol beneath the relevant citation>attach Files Page 13
Browse to find your file and attach it>open>upload>upload Complete>Close Check that the symbol is bold on EndNoteWeb 4.2 Links eg in PubMed choose Free Article or Free Full Text Link>Copy URL http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc4437687/ Return to EndNoteWeb Show Empty Fields>Choose URL field>paste>save Click on full text link Page 14

Use via remote access: Clinicians Health Channel (http://www.health.vic.gov.au/clinicians) Choose resource eg Medline on Ovid OpenAthens link log in with your Athens details PS: You will need an additional Password from the Library to retrieve saved searches from your Personal Account Within Medline on Ovid log into your Personal Account Retrieve Saved Search Log into EndNoteWeb (http://www.myendnoteweb.com) 6. Search within your EndNoteWeb references You may choose to add data to a field eg Label. This will be displayed in your Reference. You can search for this from the Quick Search box. To Log out Click on orange down arrow beside your name on the top right corner Page 16
7. Add your citations to your document Do this on your private computer as you are not permitted to download the Plug-In at work Download Cite While You Write (EndNotePlugins.exe) Install and choose CWYW-insert references and format citations and bibliographies in Word (There is an option to save online references to your library in Internet Explorer) Open your Word document (EndNoteWeb options will appear at the top) Place cursor at the end of the word where you need to insert a citation Click Insert Citation Type Author s surname in Find box to search your EndNoteWeb Library Select - it is inserted and the reference is added to a bibliography at the end of your document Download a reference style eg Vancouver You can change the Reference Style at any time Important step to complete your document: You must convert your document to a safer format for use independently of EndNoteWeb eg when using Track Changes or sending your document to someone else: Click Convert Citations and Bibliography Select Convert to Plain Text This creates a new document save it with a separate file name Page 17
