Music Elements The Beat is What Counts~ November 2018 Newsletter Want To Join The Band? Music Elements has a prestigious band called, The Elements. The Elements have been together as a 7-piece band for a few years now. They met weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm and have performed many gigs and fundraisers in both Chelmsford and surrounding towns. Most of the members have now moved on to High School and we are starting a new band. Our drummer, Caedmon, is continuing on with the band! We currently have 2 Vocalists, a Bass Player and Drummer. We are looking for 2 additional Vocalists, a keyboard player and guitarist to join The Elements. Horn players are welcome too! The class is taught by both John Anthony and Alex Buiel and the cost for the hour ensemble is $20.00. Got some news that you would like to share? Let us know if there is something you have to share in our newsletter and we will post your accomplishments so that everyone can share in the news! Page 1

The Vibe The Vibe is another band at Music Elements. The Vibe is taught by Mike Loce on Fridays from 7:00pm - 8:00pm with the same hourly cost of $20. Currently, The Vibe consists of 3 Vocalists, a Drummer and the instructor on Guitar. We would love to add a keyboard player and guitarist to this band as well. 2

Meet the Teachers Amanda Roth Amanda Roth is currently pursing a Master of Music in Violin Performance at the Longy School of Music. She recently relocated to Massachusetts after graduating in May with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance, Violin Concentration from the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University. To supplement her musical education, she has participated in a number of summer programs including the Aria International Summer Academy, the Chautauqua Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, and the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at Juilliard. Amanda has been a member of Temple University's Grammy Nominated Symphony Orchestra, the Waukesha Area Chamber Orchestra, and the Longy Conservatory Orchestra, as well as various chamber ensembles. She has performed at such major venues as the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and Alice TullyAmanda Roth Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City and has been involved in a number of premieres of new works. Throughout her many performances, she has shared the stage with Rachel Barton Pine, various members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and ex-trans-siberian Orchestra violinist, Mark Wood. In addition to playing traditional classical violin repertoire, she also enjoys exploring the world of jazz, funk, country, and rock-n-roll on her six-string fretted electric violin made by Wood Violins. Besides performing, Amanda is passionate about teaching. Previously, she taught violin and viola for the Philadelphia String Project and Temple Prep s Community Music Scholars Program. Currently Amanda is a teaching assistant for the orchestra at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and is excited to be joining the Music Elements family! 3
