1 MOUNTING Refer to the outlne drawng at the end of the manual for mountng dmensons. Note: A grass plate covers the LCD. For ths reason, handle the unt carefully. 1.1 Dsplay Unt The dsplay unt may be mounted on a desktop (optonal hanger requred) or flush mounted n a panel. When selectng a mountng locaton, keep n mnd the followng ponts: Locate the unt out of drect sunlght. Select a locaton where the dsplay can be easly vewed and the controls can be easly operated. Leave suffcent space around the unt for servcng and mantenance. See the outlne drawng for mnmum servcng space. The unt weghs 5.4 kg (flush mountng)/6.3 kg (desktop mountng). Be sure the mountng locaton s strong enough to support the weght of the unt. Locate the unt away from areas subject to water splash and ran. 1

Flush mountng See the outlne drawng at the end of the manual for mountng dmensons. CAUTION Hold the cover and dsplay unt together when lftng the dsplay unt. The dsplay unt may fall out f only the cover s held. 1. Remove the LCD cover from the unt. 2. Usng the paper template suppled n the nstallaton materals, make a cutout n the mountng locaton. 3. Insert the dsplay unt to the cutout, and fasten the dsplay unt to the mountng locaton wth four self-tappng screws (5X30, suppled as accessores). Note: Hex head bolts may also be used to fasten the dsplay unt. However, ther lengths must be at least 30 mm. 110 30 Waterproofng: IP20 Cosmetc cap Waterproofng: IPX5 Mountng dmensons 4. Attach the cosmetc caps (suppled as accessores) to the dsplay unt at the locatons shown n the drawng above. 2

Desktop mountng The dsplay unt can be mounted on a desktop, usng the optonal hanger, Type: FP19-00700, Code No.: 001-403-240. 1.2 Remote Controller Wrte the devce name (ex. FCV-1200L ) for each sgnal key on the stcker suppled wth the remote controller. Attach the stcker to the remote controller, at the locaton shown below. 3 ADJUSTMENTS Adjust the MU-120C accordng to the equpment connected. Note that you can adjust the dsplay currently selected, at the DISP selecton wndow. (See secton 4.3.) 3.1 RGB/ Settng and RGB2 screens can be adjusted ndependently. Also, screen can be adjusted smlarly. 1. Press the [MENU] key to show the man menu. The man menu s erased automatcally wth no operaton for one mnute. 2. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select, RGB2 or as approprate. Note that both left and rght edges may be n black. For VGA and XGA sgnals, FULL and NORMAL are avalable. ***: Adjust H_SIZE and V_SIZE properly. Otherwse, unwanted mage may appear outsde of the dsplay area. Note: When the characters are not clear, adjust PHASE and SHARPNESS. 8

3.3 Menu Wndow Settng 3.3.1 Adjustng the menu wndow The menu wndow can be moved and translucentzed on the OSD (On Screen Dsplay) menu. 1. Press the [MENU] key to show the menu. 2. 3.3.2 Changng the sgnal name You can change the sgnal name whch s shown on the DISP or PIP menu, descrbed n the next chapter. It s useful to use the name of the devce connected (ex. FCV-1200L ). For detaled nformaton about these menus, see Chapter 4. 1. Press the [MENU] key to show the man menu. 2. Press the [ ] key to choose the OSD menu. 3.4 Remote Controller Settng A remote controller can be set to be operatve wth a specfc dsplay unt, n the case of multple MU-120C dsplay unts. Set the remote controller mode desred on the SYSTEM menu as follows; 1. Press the [MENU] key to show the man menu. 2. Press the [ ] key to select SYSTEM. Select INFRARED REMOTE. 4. Pont the remote controller toward the dsplay unt, and press any key on the remote controller. The current settng of remote controller s shown nsde the remote controller settng square. 5. Press the [RGB2] and [BRILL +] keys together on the remote controller to change the remote controller ID among A, B, C and D. Your selecton appears nsde the square. 6. Press the [ ] or [ ] key so that the dsplay unt ID s the same as the remote controller ID n the square. 7. Press the [MENU] key to close the menu. 12

4 OPERATION 4.1 Controls Dsplay unt MENU key Shows the man menu. DISP key Shows the DISPLAY selecton wndow. Power key Turns the power on/off. LED Optcal sensor Arrow keys Selects menu tem. PIP key Shows the PIP selecton wndow. BRILL key Shows the BRILL adjustment wndow. Dsplay unt Power key: Press the power key ( ) to turn the power on or off. LED: The LED changes color accordng to sgnal status as below. Green: The selected sgnal to be dsplayed s nput correctly from the external devce. Orange: The selected sgnal to be dsplayed s not nput from the external devce for fve seconds. 13

BRILL (+) Increases the dsplay brllance. BRILL (-) Decreases the dsplay brllance. MENU Shows the man menu. Arrow keys Selects the menu tems. *: When a pcture-n pcture wndow s shown, t remans on the (2). **: When the prevous selecton s PIP1, 2 or 3, t s erased by pressng these keys. ***: When the prevous selecton s VIDEO1, 2 or 3, these keys are not avalable. 4.2 Adjustng Dsplay Brllance The dsplay brllance can be adjusted as follows. 1. Press the [BRILL] key on the dsplay unt to show the BRILL adjustment wndow. BRILL 50 BRILL wndow 3. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to adjust the brllance. (Settng range: 1 to 50) You can also adjust brllance by pressng the [BRILL] key. 4. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to close the wndow. The wndow s erased when there s no operaton wthn fve seconds. Note: Avod excessvely low brllance to prevent dsplay rregulartes. 15

4.3 Choosng Source for Man Pcture Choose the sgnal to dsplay on the entre screen as follows: 1. Press the [DISP] key to show the DISP selecton wndow. Sgnal names can be changed. For detal, see 3.3.1 Changng the sgnal name. RGB2 VIDEO1 VIDEO2 VIDEO3 DISP selecton wndow (default settng) 2. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select a sgnal. You can also select the sgnal by pressng the [DISP] key contnuously. -2: The sgnal from the chosen RGB port s dsplayed on the entre screen. : The sgnal from the port s dsplayed on the entre screen. VIDEO1-3: The external vdeo from the approprate VIDEO port s dsplayed on the entre screen. 3. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to close the wndow. The wndow s erased when there s no operaton wthn fve seconds. Note: The name of the selected sgnal appears at the rght top corner for fve seconds after the DISP menu s erased. 16

4.4 Choosng Source for Pcture-n Pcture Choose the source for the pcture-n-pcture wndow as follows: Note: The sze of the pcture-n-pcture wndow can be adjusted on the VIDEO1, 2 and 3 menus. For detals, see secton 3.2. 1. Wth the, RGB2 or dsplay shown, press the [PIP] key. The PIP selecton wndow appears. Sgnal names can be changed. For detal, see 3.3.1 Changng the sgnal name. VIDEO1 VIDEO2 VIDEO3 OFF PIP wndow (default settng) 2. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to select the VIDEO port desred. VIDEO can be also selected by pressng the [PIP] key contnuously. To turn off the pcture-n-pcture wndow, choose OFF. 3. Press the [ ] or [ ] key to close the wndow. Note: The pcture-n-pcture wndow can be moved by pressng the arrow keys when a menu wndow s erased. 17

5 MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD Do not open the equpment. Only qualfed personnel should work nsde the equpment. 5.1 Mantenance Routne mantenance Regular mantenance s mportant for good performance. Check the followng on a regular bass to keep the equpment n good operatng condton. Check that the connectors at the rear of the dsplay unt are tghtly fastened. Check the ground wre and ground termnal for rust. Clean f necessary. Confrm that the ground wre s tghtly fastened. Remove dust and drt from the dsplay unt and LCD wth a dry, soft cloth. Do not use chemcal cleaners to clean any part of the dsplay unt they can remove pant and markngs. Wpe the LCD carefully to prevent scratchng, usng tssue paper and an LCD cleaner. To remove drt or salt deposts, use an LCD cleaner, wpng slowly wth tssue paper so as to dssolve the drt or salt. Change paper frequently so the salt or drt wll not scratch the LCD. Do not use solvents such as thnner, acetone or benzene for cleanng. Fuse replacement The 7 A fuse n the power cable protects the equpment from nternal fault and overcurrent. If the fuse blows, fnd the cause before replacng t. If the fuse blows agan after replacement, request servce. WARNING Use the proper fuse. Use of a wrong fuse can cause fre or damage to the equpment. 18

Battery replacement The remote controller has two AA batteres. If the dstance from whch the remote controller can be operated has decreased, change the battery. Note: Replace all batteres together. Do not mx old and new batteres. WARNING Ensure battery polarty s correct. Wrong polarty may cause the batteres to explode. 5.2 Troubleshootng The table below provdes troubleshootng procedures to use when no pcture appears. If you cannot restore the pcture, do not attempt to check nsde the equpment there are no user servceable parts nsde. Refer any work to a qualfed techncan.
