Conditional Formatting in Microsoft Excel 2007 Midterm Debriefing Lynda Cannedy 6323 Multimedia/Hypermedia
Ultimate Goal The project goal is to prepare a selfcontained learning object for secondary BCIS students to learn how to apply conditional formatting to spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel 2007. I plan to have the lesson ready for evaluation by the due date.
How is it Looking? The learning object is taking shape. I worked on a power point first and then recorded the power point as well as procedural demonstrations with narrations in Camtasia. I have also embedded quizzes and added assessments to Camtasia. The production has been rendered but I have not posted the URL or tested the links.

Spreadsheet B exhibits several types of conditional formatting. In this lesson, you will learn: 1. To enter parameters for conditional formatting 2. To apply a predefined formatting rule 3. To create a new formatting rule 4. To edit a formatting rule 5. To apply icon sets, data bars, and color scales 6. To use conditional formatting to analyze

Lessons Learned I have learned about zooming and panning and how to change the timing on the timeline. I have learned how to put a link to a data file in the presentation using a transparent hot spot. I have learned to keep the design simple. I have learned about different types of files and recommendations for each.
Concerns I am always concerned about meeting deadlines and finishing projects on time. I have something in place now for the deadline but it will continue to be a work in progress as it goes through the evaluation process. I am concerned about the flow and pacing of the LO. Can it be stopped and will the learner know how to restart it after taking a quiz? Has anyone worked with the Table of Contents in Camtasia? Is that something useful to add or does it clutter up the screen?
