Students boosted their bibliographies with additional research, developed deep analysis, and enhanced their topic s connection to the 2019 theme: Triumph and Tragedy in History! A sincere thank you to our hosts Grainger Hall, Gordon Event Center, and the Wisconsin Historical Society. Please help us show our gratitude by keeping their spaces clean. On behalf of the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Wisconsin Historical Foundation, and the National History Day in Wisconsin Office: Good Luck! Things to know All projects must relate to the 2019 theme: Two projects in each category will advance to the National Competition in Washington D.C. View websites, papers, exhibit public viewing times, and final round finalists on our website: wisconsinhistory.org/ nhdcontests Scroll and click State Contest Documentaries and Performances are the only categories: open to the public! Please be mindful of noise and limit entry/exit between projects. 2

Contest Information Students, WHEN YOU ARRIVE: 1. Find your room! Test your documentary, set up your exhibit, and feel prepared. 2. Show up to your judging time slot early so you can take a few deep breaths before. 3. Rock your interview! 4. Go to wisconsinhistory.org/nhdcontests (click on State Contest) at 1:00pm to view final round finalists. All final rounds will be announced. 5. Walk through the History College Fair (Grainger Hall West Atrium) 6. Stop by the Information Desk if you have any questions and buy a NHD T-shirt! 7. If you feel that the judging was unfair of that there was a marking mistake, please follow the instructions below so that NHD staff may properly evaluate future judging. Any student, parent, or teacher who wishes to comment upon the judging at the local, regional, or state level may do so in writing.
