2. Working Conditions and Cautions 2.1. Working Condition This product can only work as temperature within 0-50 and change of temperature will cause value of wavelength to shift slightly. Please keep the temperature as constant as possible. Keep the environment clean. Don t expose this product to massive dust. The product should be mounted on a stable platform. Intense vibration or dropping may cause damage. Do not place any liquid container or tiny parts close to the product, so as to avoid those liquid or tiny parts may fall into the instrument unexpectedly. In case of that, please power off the module immediately. 2.2. Pay Attention Don t block ventilation windows of the product so as to avoid heat accumulation inside the product which will cause failure. Please power off the machine and cover the light output port when not using for long time. But it would be better to turn on it at least once per month. It is forbidden to disassemble and re-assemble the product without formal permission from Gauss Lasers. Gauss Lasers will not be responsible for any damage caused by such improper behavior. The warrantee will be automatically ineffective. Move the instrument carefully. Please keep it from intense vibration and impact. Page 6 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI

3. Product Description 3.1. General Introduction T5200 is an integrated acoustic optical modulator module coupled with optical fiber. With this AOM module user can pick the specified pulses from the original pulse train of the high frequency optical laser, and further more switch on or off the optical output quickly. This Fiber-coupled AOM includes optical module and electronic driver module. Electronic driver module supports a variety of operating modes. Fiber-coupled AOM series are designed for use in pulsed fiber laser amplifier systems and high repetition rate fiber lasers, as a pulse picker for short pulse. Giving optimum performance in demanding applications, such as materials processing, it is mainly used to shift the center frequency and reduce repetition frequency etc. In addition to the standard product, custom configurations are available for specific applications. fiber coupling, electronic synchronizing signal or laser synchronizing signal is alternative as the input the highest frequency of input laser pulse up to 80MHz integrated frequency divider and AOM driver LCD user interface Using knob to control the module 3.2. 4.2. Connections 5. Interface operation 5.1 Introduction Figure 4-2 System Connection Operation menu is displayed on LCD screen. Please turn the knob to go through all the functions to control the module and select desired one to operate. 5.2 Screen message Screen message tells the basic information and running status of the module. 5.2.1 Module info The module s basic information is shown as follows. 5.2.2 Running status The current running status is indicated on the LCD screen as follows. Page 11 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI

MO-Frq Frequency of input optical signal (MO) RepFrq Repetition Rate is the frequency of output optical signal and the result of MO Frequency divided by Divider. Divider This is the number, by which MO frequency is divided. As shown in the picture above, current value of divider is set to 400 and displayed on the screen in real-time. Pulse Count This parameter indicates how many optical pulses are currently picked from original optical pulse train. PosDelay The parameter is designed to delay the rising edge of gate envelop. NegDelay This one indicates the current value of falling edge delay. Page 12 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI

Signal src This shows current option of trigger source. RF means direct input of external electronic signal; PD means external optical signal. Attention: power of optical trigger signal should be between 1 and 3mw, while external electrical trigger signal should be set to 3.3-5V in voltage. Save setting Execute this function to save all current setting into memory; every time after powering on, the product will load this setting automatically. The change of setting without saving will be lost after powering down. Recall setting Load the setting values from memory to cover current setting. 5.2.3 Software version info 5.2.4 Setting user interface (UI) Divider setting UI When RepFrq info on the third line is highlighted, i.e., the colors of characters and background are opposite, press the knob and the divider setting UI will turn up as follows. Curvalue is the current value of divider setting. Newvalue is the value desired.. Clockwise rotation of the knob would increase the new value, and therefore change the parameter ReqFrq. Press the knob down, and then the new value is activated. The screen message will switched back to previous UI. Pulse count setting UI When the pulse count info on the third line is highlighted, push the knob down and the menu will go to pulse count setting UI. Curvalue is the current value of pulse count setting. Range indicates the setting range Page 14 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI

available to this parameter, here which is from 0 to 64. Newvalue is the value desired. Rotate the knob and the new value will be changed correspondingly. To put the new value into action, please press the knob. And then the screen will show the previous interface again. Positive delay setting interface When the PosDelay info on the third line is highlighted, pressing the knob down will lead to positive delay setting UI. Curvalue is the current value of positive delay setting. Range indicates the range available to set value of this parameter. Newvalue is the value to be set. Similarly, rotate the knob and select the new value desired. Push the knob down and activate the new value. And then the screen message will go back to the previous UI. Negative delay setting UI When the NegDelay info on the third line is highlighted, pressing the knob down will lead to positive delay setting UI. Curvalue is the current value of negative delay setting. Range indicates the range available to set value of this parameter. Newvalue is the value to be set. Similarly, rotate the knob and select the new value desired. Push the knob down and activate the new value. And then the screen message will go back to the previous UI. Page 15 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI

Trigger source setting UI When the signal source src on the third line is highlighted, pushing the knob down will lead to the trigger source setting UI. Curvalue is the current signal source setting value. 0 means trigger signal is RF input (electric pulse input); 1 means trigger signal is PD input (laser pulse input).newvalue is the value desired. Attention: power of optical trigger signal should be between 1 and 3mw, while external electrical trigger signal should be set to 3.3-5V in voltage. Similarly, rotate the knob and select the new value desired. Push the knob down and activate the new value. And then the screen message will go back to the previous UI. 5.3 UI operation All functions are executed through operation of the knob and scrolling of screen messages. On the status information display, message will be scrolled upsides or downsides, which depends on whether the knob is turned counterclockwise or clockwise. When the adaptable option is shown on the third line, it will be highlighted, the setting UI is accessible by push the knob down. On the setting UI, the new value can be increased by clockwise rotating the knob, and decreased by counterclockwise move. Push the knob down to put the new value into action and then switch back to previous status information display. Page 16 of 17 ROOM 1201, 243 University Ave., SHANGHAI
