Kids Summer Praise July 25-29, 2016
A bit of audition info (because auditioning should be a GOOD and growing experience for everyone) DRAMA: Those auditioning will read from scenes as indicated on the following pages for specific roles. Special packets will also be available at auditions that highlight certain lines from these scenes to aid in the handling of auditions. A Drama Prep Room will be open for kids to get extra help or just to do some practicing as they desire before heading into the actual audition room. SOLOS: Those auditioning will sing from the solo selections as indicated on the following pages where solos are noted. Special packets will also be available at auditions that pick out certain solo parts to aid in the handling of auditions. A Solo Prep Room will be open for kids to get extra help or just to listen to certain songs as they desire before heading into the actual audition room. DANCING: Those auditioning will learn some simple dance steps with choreographers. No dance experience is needed, but a teachable spirit will be observed. There will be one room where teaching and assessing will all take place for dancers. It will be a fun room. J ALL audition rooms will be closed to those not actively auditioning (parents, friends ).

Max, you weren t kidding, this place looks perfect. Typical smalltown America normal looking people pretending they like each other great casting. (gives a big thumbs up ) Where d you get the character actors? MAX: These aren t character actors, Steph. WORTHINGTON: (most dramatic sneeze yet) AAAACHOOOOO!!! MAX: Okay, maybe there s one character. STEPHIE: Well Max, I d love to chew the fat with ya, but we ve gotta shoot us a rock video, if you know what I mean. Okay, so I m thinking we fire up the smoke machines, paint everybody s faces purple, throw in a few flying monkeys did we rent monkeys? MAX: (warmly) Uh Steph, you know, this isn t one of those rock videos. We have some hard-working, talented people here who are excited about Jesus, and we just want to capture them on video with my new song, Let s Rock! STEPHIE: (unconvinced) Hmm. Well, okay. I suppose that could work. No monkeys? MAX: No monkeys. STEPHIE: Alright. But just actual people? Couldn t we spice it up with something? How about I ve got it you re singing and playing your guitar, the kids are all around you, and then right in the middle of the frame, suddenly, there s a big rock! WORTHINGTON: YESSSSS!!! STEPHIE: (dismissing it) Uh, never mind. Bad idea. WORTHINGTON: NOOOOOOO!!!!

FOR THOSE AUDITIONING FOR SPECIAL PARTS IN Let s Rock The speaking parts, solos and choreography in this musical presentation will require more preparation time than we can provide during our week-long day camp. We also don t want the kids to miss out on the daily Kids Summer Praise sessions due to extra practicing for their parts. Please indicate which of the rehearsals listed below that your child will be able to be part of. You will be contacted as to which extra rehearsals will be needed for their part. TO BE SELECTED FOR ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS, YOU AND YOUR CHILD MUST BE COMMITED TO BE AT THESE REHEARSALS. E-mail will be our communication method of choice. All rehearsal information will be posted on the church website for easy access.
